The location was conveniently near the main line train station. However, at night it can seem a little bit intimidating with mostly men hanging around. I would add the men seemed harmless. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was adequate. Be warned there is no lift so if staying on the second floor and you have a heavy suitcase it might be tricky.

Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.
The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.
By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.
However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference centre. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.
Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.

There is so much to see of historical and architectural interest in Turin. I had previously only passed through en route to skiing holidays. It was like discovering a hidden gem. We loved the museums that we could see. We arrived on a Sunday and many closed on Monday so we had limited time to see everything. It is a beautiful city and will definitely return for an extended visit. Lots of places to eat and the gelato at Grom was amazing. We found it cheaper or comparable to the UK which was a surprise.

Very agressive drivers, and very lethargic pedestrians.
Very agressive drivers, and very lethargic pedestrians. The traffic is quite a mess, cars parking on crosswalks, braking agressively and honking. Both pedestrians and cars often ignore trafic signals, which can be hard to make out in some spots.
The public transport is alright when it works. During my stay, there was a 24 hour strike from the public transport workers. Their stops don't show timetables unless you scan a QR code. Their mobile app doesn't work. Tickets might not allow you back into a metro station once you walk out and realise the bus from there only works on weekdays and want to go back.
Other than that, the city is very nice to walk through. Bit dirty on some marketplaces and squares, but otherwise nice. The museums are great, definitely worth a visit, with the royal palace/museum easily taking up a whole day alone. Only the artillery museum was a bit of a letdown, as the soldiers there couldn't speak english.

Turin is a lovely, quite modern Italian city, particularly in the old part of town. There is beautiful architecture and rich history. However, in being a modern city, you will see the rough around the edges such as a lot of homelessness, graffiti etc. it doesn’t tarnish the visit, but this isn’t a fairy tale location like Florence or Venice. Turin embodies La Bella Figura and people dress well and eat well. You can go out on any night and get good food (though check opening times/days if you want somewhere in particular) and fantastic wine.

Beautiful town with interesting museums and good restaurants and cafés. We found it more beautiful than Milano. Tipp for great little restaurant: Tana dei Tre was a wonderful discovery. Anytime again.
Perfect B&B hotel, if you traveling in Italy using train, and you must stay for 1 night in Torino. Comfortable room in retro building. Close to B&B Lisa is Mini Market. Breakfast - program minimum, but we were also offered salty: prosciutto and cheese.
Really great location and lovely to stay in a cute, smart apartment. Turin is a great destination for a short break or stopover (we stayed en route from Paris to Rome by train). The apartment is around 20 mins walk from either of the main stations.
Very close to Porta Susa high-speed train station.
