Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.
The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.
By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.
However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference centre. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.
Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.

This vibrant city, nestled in the heart of northern Italy, offers a blend of rich culture, history, and breathtaking natural beauty. What stood out the most to me was the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, which added an incredible charm to the city.

This was our first visit to the town.
This was our first visit to the town. We really enjoyed our stay and found the local people to be super friendly and very cheerful. The variety of historic and cultural sites was most impressive. We found the tram system to be very efficient and found restaurants to suit every budget. The panoramic views of Turin from the Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Cappuccini were fantastic and well worth the climb.

Such a stunning city - everywhere you turned tree lined cobbled streets, stunning architecture - beautiful! Plenty of designer shops (if thats your thing) and great Football (which was our thing!) - although travelling back from Juventus was a challenge! Food was lovely. People were friendly.

Good quality and well furnished room. I had lived in many 3-star hotels in Italy, and this one is definitely one of the best.
Super friendly staff: I asked the staff(an old man) about the time I may need to walk to flixbus station. Indeed I could follow the googlemap, but amazingly he prepared a sketched map at midnight that indicated the best way approaching the station. It saved my poor Samsung battery a lot. I can feel his earnest attitude to every traveller.
we have stayed in this apartment before, when I travel with my parents they do not like to fly so when we go to Italy by train stopping in Turin is the easy option. The apartment has two lovely double bedrooms and 3 shower rooms (with toilets). the location is great, very close to all the tourist spots (and close to public transpiort / taxi ranks )
There is a lift and the apartment is perfect for people with mobility issues,
The location was perfect as we were catching an early train to Paris the following morning. The room was quite big, with nice furniture, a good bathroom, a juliet balcony and duel aspect windows. We didn't take any meals in the hotel as it was a really quick stopover but the staff were great, the hotel was stylish and cost less than the awful hotel we stayed in at Kings Cross London at the start of our trip to Italy
They let us check in early, which was so kind considering we have an overnight train from Rome. The room was quite modern and clean. They also heated our pizza and served it on a plate, a very nice gesture and much appreciated. The breakfast was full some. The staff was very friendly, they booked us a taxi whenever needed. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to Porta Nuova station and 2 mins to the nearest metro station.
The breakfast was sufficient with yoghurt, toast, ham, cheese, cereals etc. but I did miss vegetables. The coffee - as everywhere in Italy - was great! Personnel at the hotel was very helpful and nice. The rooms were very basic; mine was big but filled with one queen bed and two single beds. The toilets were small but obviously rather lately renovated.
