Shocking. No working wifi, no working air con, unhelpful staff and not even allowed to purchase a cup of coffee unless I purchased a full breakfast.

Blue Lagoon Hotel and Conference Centre, hotel in East London

Nestled in indigenous, sub-tropical foliage and where the Nahoon River meets the warm Indian Ocean, the Blue Lagoon offers tranquillity and seclusion just outside East London.

There was a clear indication of attention to maintenance and staff training. I am a regular visitor, so this was noticeable. I particularly valued hotel management intervention in dealing with a personal crisis (family with dementia went missing). Breakfast buffet was large and varied. Rooms clean and well maintained. Particularly liked the thoughtful placement of complimentary water in the apartment fridge. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Well located on the Nahoon river with easy access to both river and the visible sea.

EAST LONDON IS A VERY GOOD PLACE BUT IT IS TODAY NOT GOOD AS IT USED TO BE. I WAS BORN AND GREW UP IN EAST LONDON THEN MOVED TO PORT ELIZABETH 21 YEARS AGO . THE STANDARD IS SLOWLY BUT SURELY GOING DOWN . THAT IS VISIBLY EVIDENT WHEN YOU SEE OXFORD STREET TODAY. VERY DIRTY AND NO ORDER AT ALL

East London is a casual relaxed city.

East London is a casual relaxed city. Beautiful estuaries, hilly and lots of greenery, with an African twist. Unfortunately run down and lots of litter in places, but worth a pop in on the way up the coast.

Wonderful structure and people put too much effort to ensure that they meet travellers interest. Too much decorations are made for Christmas but sadly according to the scripture there is nothing spoken about Christmas.

I noticed that the town was much cleaner than the last time I visited EL. Drive thru at McDonald was disappointing. It was too slow. Employees appeared to need training. Consultants at Avis (airport) lacked training. They had no sense of service

Firstly I booked at premier regent Norma the supervisor was absolutely rude and arrogant allocating all wrong rooms and refusing to help how can guests be treated in such a way after I reached the hotel at 1pm and after going back and forth finally asking them to contact their GM they finally moved my entire family to premier ICC. The staff there from management to the porters were splendid 👌 Zimasa from premier ICC thank you for helping us with correct rooms and an easy move from regent to ICC
