Large rambling hotel with individual or joined garden rooms in beautiful gardens full of wildlife including 2 secluded swimming pools and walks. Lovely staff and good food. The almost-cinematic view of foliage and incredible variety of birds (and frogs at night) from the dining area is really special.

The trails are really excellent, lots of wildlife and since most of them are clean and paved, there is a good accessibility as you can see where you put your feet and you also avoid taking too much mud.

We loved the location, the gardens and accommodation were very peaceful and the hotel was perfect for relaxation. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was like a work of art (tasted good too). We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the trails around the gardens. There is a small bar upstairs which was very quiet and provided a perfect spot to relax with a drink in the hammocks and watch the wildlife. We had dinner on one night, which was also very nice. There is a small supermarket within walking distance. We had a small fridge, coffee machine (coffee inc) and a clothes horse and hangers (very useful) in the room. The room also had A/C.

The location is great, next to the river and with a beautiful garden. The beds are spacious, and the breakfast is good with homemade bread. It was nice bathing in the river.

Sarapiqui is a busy town, the commercial hub for the local area. We really enjoyed an excellent river trip, the guide was knowledgable and entertaining. We stayed at nearby Selva Verde using our own Hire Car to get around, driving is easy enough although this is a major highway

A stunning adventure with lots of memories.
A stunning adventure with lots of memories. Woke up to howler monkeys chatting in the treetops above my cabin. Great hikes, beautiful views.
Guides are super knowledgeable and enthusiastic to be there.
Something that's extra great? The employees--the guides, the cooks, etc.--all seem genuinely happy. It's clear that they're well taken care of and appreciated!

While there are many Adventure tours available, we opted for the birding activities. We took one guided tour at Tirimbina and one at La Selva. Both provided unique species and I highly recommend taking the extra time to also go to La Selva. Air Conditioning is highly recommended to help you stay comfortable after a day in the heat and humidity, which the region is known for.

We visited Sarapiquí in 2010 and we wanted to return. What we have found (in a period of 10 years), has been a significant increase of tourism and the expansion of the urban areas in the town. Now, there are more people living in Sarapiquí.

People were very friendly .
People were very friendly . Not much English speaking but we got by. We got out into the country with locals and really had a good time. A jungle tour is a must as it is still a lot of raw areas left. Great bird watching. It is not as hot as the beach areas and roads and driving is quite nerve wracking at times.

Hotel was exactly as described . An oasis in the rainforest. However what made our stay was the prompt help from staff when i twisted my ankle and they arranged for a doctor. There’s nothing more telling about a place than how they deal with things going wrong. So grateful for every they did .
Wendy and her family were fantastic hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Sarapiqui 2 to other travellers. Waking up to the sound of Howler Monkeys is something that we will never forget!
