Our three night stay was perfect! We were very impressed by the incredibly helpful staff, who were very friendly and eager to help make our stay in La Fortuna excellent. Our room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Everything was very clean. The breakfasts were superb! They were buffet style with a great variety and everything was served hot. The view of the volcano was lovely, and the pool area was clean.
A huge plus was the partner hotel Volcano Lodge. You get a wristband to enter the hot springs there, where there is also a restaurant and wet bar. It made the perfect addition!

Stunning view of the volcano and beautiful gardens. We saw plenty of wildlife all around us such as humming birds, sloths and it was only place we saw a toucan all trip! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We asked for a few things during our stay and they were very happy to oblige. They were also able to help us arrange trips which weren't ridiculously expensive. The new pools opened when we were there so we were lucky enough to be able to try them out. They were lovely - very secluded and private and with a range of temperatures to try. There is an adult only section if you want things a bit quieter, though its nice that children can access some of the pools here.
The breakfast was lovely and there was a huge choice. We ate in the restaurant twice in the evening which was very pleasant though probably better suited to adults rather than children. Suggest sticking to the bar around the pool for young kids.
All in all this was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I had to sort out some things for the next leg of my trip after Fortuna. I spent one week working on that and getting to know the town. I went for a massage and a facial. The second week I explored more, walking around with my host. It’s better to set out early because it gets too hot midday.

Everything is near by if you stay close to the center, and no need to break the bank. Also, town is pretty flat, so you can cruise around no problem after a long day of hiking, that’s what I liked the most, you go do the climbing during the day, then you can just walk around relaxed without anymore cloning to do

The owners are friendly and kind people. They also are patient and attentive to customers. The place is safe and secure. The room is about 20 squared meters, equipped with the properly working AC and fan. The fridge, coffee table and resting chairs provide additional comfort. In general, this is a nice place to stay for a short visit.

Touring the rain forest at Hanging Bridges at Mistico Park, Zip Lining at Sky Adventures, and Hiking to Fortuna Waterfall were all excellent. Check out some local grub at one of the many Sodas (i.e. local cafes).

There is so much to do in La Fortuna!
There is so much to do in La Fortuna! Definitely book some tours if you can - they're worth it! We did some exploring on our own (we rented a car for this purpose), and within 15/20 minutes you can be at Arenal Observatory, as well as all the hikes around the area. The birdwatching tour through the Observatory was excellent. The town center itself is great, too - tons of restaurants, hot springs, and places to hang out. We loved the Volcano Lodge's thermal forest hot springs. For food, we highly recommend Organico Fortuna (their fresh fruit juices are incredible) and Kappa Sushi for excellent sushi and cold Imperial beers! The Fortuna Waterfall is worth it, but go earlier to avoid crowds. We also saw monkeys nearly everywhere we went. So fun!

Fortuna is a wonderful place to go if you want your Costa...
Fortuna is a wonderful place to go if you want your Costa Rican trip to focus on the outdoors and the beautiful biodiversity of the rainforest! The town and community feel largely centered on agriculture and eco-tourism. We had a great time on walking tours of wildlife, river floats, horseback-riding, and traveling through a cave system.
We ate a lot as a part of our tours, but also a shout out to Casa Fortuna and El Fortuneno, two great restaurants we ventured out to! Other great tour companies were Canoa Aventura, Go Adventure Arenal Park, and Don Juan Arenal.
Getting around is the only tricky thing; most tours will provide transportation for you, but most hotels are a cab ride from the main downtown, so if you just want to explore, be prepared to pay for a cab (we were a group of 6 and always needed a big cab, which our hotel helped us get, $40 round trip from our hotel each time we wanted to go, so not bad).
I speak decent Spanish, but no one else in my group did, and we all found the community very friendly and welcoming. This is great for a getaway that combines relaxation with outdoor adventures and learning about the incredible wildlife in the area.
This hotel exceeded our expectations.
We loved being outside of La Fortuna as it felt much more relaxed. Being surrounded by nature, with a stunning view of the volcano and with hummingbirds in the trees outside the front door, was really special.
The small resort felt intimate and friendly.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. We also ate in the 2 local restaurants, which were also phenomenal.
This is a wonderful hotel. The location is beautiful and really close to everything in La Fortuna. Each room is hidden in beautiful tropical greenery, and really comfortable. The breakfast is delicious with many options and the staff are all extremely kind and helpful, with great attention to detail. The pool is also lovely. We absolutely loved our stay here - Thank you Noah's Forest!
