We very much enjoyed our stay at Manoa Springs. It is a resort hotel a little out of town so a car is useful if you want to eat and drink away from the resort. The onsite restaurants were very good albeit a little pricey. The main dining room is open air and breakfast was a delight with many visiting birds and lizards. Down below by the big pond we saw crocodiles and iguanas. The gardens are beautifully manicured to enhance the forest feel. The pool and hot springs were very nice too. Our room was comfortable and spacious complete with a smart tv where we could watch Netflix.

Beautiful location with great view of the Arenal volcano. The grounds were well maintained. The hot springs were a highlight. We enjoyed relaxing in them at the end of every day. The staff was very friendly, especially towards our baby. The included breakfast was great, good variety and tasty food. My husband is celiac and they had many gluten-free options at their restaurants.

We stayed at Fortuna for 1 night and drove to Monteverdo to do the Cloud Forest and ziplining there. In hindsight, we should have just stayed at Fortuna longer and done the ziplining, cave, and water rafting in Fortuna.

Fortuna has many trails, waterfalls, hot springs to visit.
Fortuna has many trails, waterfalls, hot springs to visit. It’s expensive, everywhere is an entrance fee, and no buses to get from one place to the other.. We used the 3 days unlimited shuttle, that helps a lot to get around if you don’t have a car, which cost us 20 US for 3 days per person.

Everything in town to enjoy your stay! Local park great to chill and observe. Many local tour opportunities without pushy staff. Wonderful local bakery and typical food. Abundant other food choices. Many hot springs nearby, Uber easy and inexpensive. Of course, good coffee to start the day! Very easy walk to get around. Many activities for solo traveler.

Climate change, a tropical depression moved in and it poured rain the entire time. There was no way to dry out or dry anything. Can't change the weather. Fortuna is definitely a "Tourist Town" - bring dollars and cash; not colons and charge cards. If you're over age 50, might want to consider an Airbnb instead of an "Inn which is also a Hostel". Since it poured rain, we were not able to partake in any Nature adventures.

The Sloth tour was great, we saw 4 Sloths, Humming birds, lizards, & other insects & birds.
The water rafting was just the greatest experience on any holiday I've had (& we're in our 70's).
Food in Costa Rica is really good, beans, rice & veggies, which suits us as we're vegan & my hubby is a Coeliac but we did take powdered oat milk for our tea (& our own tea bags), as of course Costa Rica has wonderful coffee.
Fortuna is flatter & has a warmer, dryer climate than Monteverde (which we found to be colder, wetter & more hilly.) & there are a number of shops, restaurants & tour operators (we booked through Waves Expeditions).

Fantastic hotel with beautiful garden, handy restaurant and a great pool/ jacuzzi to relax after hiking or doing any activity in La Fortuna. Staff like Katerina and Fabian were very kind and helpful. There is also Bobby ( little dog) and Lolita ( parrot) around the reception :) Also breakfast was good and worth to add with the booking.
Loved the hot springs and the beautiful grounds. Staff were extremely helpful and the buffet breakfast was one of the best we have had. Although the hotel is a few miles outside La Fortuna and we did not have a car we were able to get around easily and cheaply using Uber.
The hotel site is very comfortable. There are a few short trails to do on-site. It is some distance (c. 30 mins) from the La Fortuna town and getting in and out is not a convenient option. The hotel staff have been helpful in arranging tours/ transportation.
This surely has to be the best hotel in La Fortuna, if not Costa Rica. The staff are all wonderful. So are the rooms. I love the open indoor showers with primo volcano views!
