Check in was a little tedious because I arrived at their second building which houses the dining area and swimming pool. However, I was promptly karted off in their mini kart akin to a tuk tuk to the right building some 400m opposite.
Some small issues with the creditcard machine but I was treated to some fruits and water while waiting.
My room was a lot smaller that my previous hotel however acceptable. Multi chained TV, Minibar and hot drinks facilities. Excellent wifi..code free.
Breakfast was good but perhaps less so if vegetarian…I wanted to order a vegetable soup but was informed that the broth was pork flavored!
However, lunch or dinner on the seafront with sandy beach was truly bliss and prices reasonable. One could also pick up the wifi there.
The staff were amazing welcoming and diligent.
Lest I forget, if like me you like to continued working out while on holiday…a visit to their gym is a must. Fully equipped ( nearly as good as my home gym…and that’s saying something!!) with all the machines and some, even a punch bag, two water fountains, a sauna and a steam room. One is issued with towels at no cost on arrival at reception.
At departure I was given a lift to the ferry port to get the boat to Kon Rong. Wonderful service!!

Big and sprawling city.
Big and sprawling city. Many hollow and derelict buildings and dirty. Only place in Cambodia where we had taxi drivers trying to overcharge or adding extras for luggage. Fixed prices are fixed prices. We got out of the taxi and ordered another one.

The area has changed drastically over the years.
The area has changed drastically over the years. Four years ago it was not a place to visit, but it is slowly improving. There is still a little seedy element/edge to it - but the roads are improving and there are some decent resorts - which if you are in need of the sea, it can fit the bill and with the new highway from Phnom Penh, you can get there in under 3 hours.

Do not go to Sihanoukville unless you are going to Kaoh Rong Island. The mainland of Sihanoukville is full of litter / rubbish, it smells, Chinese shops and cafes everywhere. It’s dirty and a landfill of rubbish

We enjoyed the trip to Koh Rong, specially Long Beach and Prei Kong Kang.
We don’t like those taxi men at Koh Rong, they were so aggressive attacking and pressured visitors. I wished they should have better attitude to make visitors feel more comfortable.
Even though, I speak Cambodian fluently to them not to intimidate me. I preferred to find my own ride.

Good to be at Sihanouville.
Good to be at Sihanouville. Nice white sand and you can always enjoy local foods and meet friendly people. You may like to take the motorbike or bicycle ride or walk along the beaches. It is quite relaxing nice beach. You can enjoy the free-provided fresh water from the Governor of this province almost everywhere along the beach. Nice job to the government of Cambodia to think of such impact and nice wash rooms.

Before booking a was worry about the hotel location. It was actually perfect.
It’s right in the center of the city. Just near all famous restaurants and attractions. The market is so close you can even walk in there.
All rooms are such clean and have great city view. The staff was so helpful, especially for check in. They make sure I get everything that I need. The best part is maybe the furnitures, all brand new, with huge TV and very cold AC.
. ...........Sihanoukville has losts its charm a bit with the new building that are skyscraper hotels which half of them are abandoned due to the economic slow down for the last two years.. But the foods really clean and good at this hotel and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Including the owner
The hotel is ok, the owner is nice but Sihanoukville has nothing to offer, the worst city I've visited in Cambodia so far, is a Chinese city full of buildings and casinos. But, if you really want to go, I suggest you visit the local big market and waterfall village 30 min away from the city.
The hotel is well located, but the general rating is in my opinion not correct. Therefore 1 of 10 points. In general i would say 5 of 10 points.
