We stayed in the 2 bedroom family room. It was very comfortable, spacious clean and modern. The pull out sofa bed however is not really suitable for older teens so our younger teen took it. The location of the hotel is excellent and we felt very safe walking to and from the hotel. The staff are super friendly and so helpful. A great hotel for a short stay in Zagreb

Very nice little hotel. Everywhere fragrant and clean. The room was large. We had a room with a balcony, it was great. Although right above the bar, but after 10pm there wasn't much noise and after midnight it was completely quiet. There is a lovely staircase in the hallway to the rooms, still original, sensible renovation. Breakfast varied and very tasty. Very nice receptionists are available at the reception. There is a bar Pablos and a restaurant Botanist in the hotel building. Interesting and unique places with helpful staff and an excellent menu. Parking is available in the beautiful garden.

FAQs about hotels in Zagreb

Great Opening to Croatia

The only capital city in the world with a ski world cup race, Zagreb sits over 120 metres above sea level and boasts typical Central European architecture: cobbled streets, impressive public buildings and well laid out greenery.

Built around two medieval settlements with the Upper Town (Gornji Grad) being its core, the city skilfully combines modern attractions with well-established favourites. Start your day at the Museum of Contemporary Art, then have a stop at the Zagreb Cathedral or make a wish at the Old Town Gate. The locals say it will be granted!

For a more relaxing time, Zagreb features two lakes - Jarun and Bundek - both offering recreational facilities and hosting festivals and events. After having fun in the sun, you might want to hit the shopping at the colourful markets and small boutiques selling local crystal, ceramics and cravats.

To get a different perspective on the city, climb Medvenica, a mountain over 1000 metres tall overlooking Zagreb, and admire the views while sipping famous Croatian wine. And while you’re there, don’t forget to visit the Medvedgrad fortress.

Zagreb Airport is just 17 km and a short bus ride from the city. Whether you’re looking for an elegant hotel, classic apartment or cosy hostel, Booking.com has about 80 accommodation options for you to choose from!

The old part of Zagreb is not in very good repair with many buildings closed to the public due to reconstruction. There are a lot of graffiti and rundown buildings. One day was long enough to have a good look around. A highlight St Cyril and Methodius Greek Catholic Church and the flower market.

When we first arrived in Zagreb we were surprised that it looked a bit shabby in parts, with a lot of graffiti , but we ended up doing an incredible tour with a guide named Petra. Zagreb had suffered a lot of damage from an earthquake in 2020. The tour really brought Zagreb to life. It is a truly beautiful city with a very complex history. We loved Zagreb and would love to return some day.

    A very beautiful city.

A very beautiful city. I expected nothing less from the capital of Croatia. The people are nice and when ever I asked people helped me. A lot of people could speak in English so communication was not a problem. The parks are nice. There are some good places to eat. It is a bit difficult to find vegan food sometimes, but it is doable.

Nice city, not that many people..

Nice city, not that many people..We were there on some holiday that I didnt know it exists but still managed to find amusment. Lots of nice restaurants, burger and craft beer bars. It has lots of museums and art gallery. We saw Degas work in one of them. It has sport history also, you can watch football, basketball and even ice hockey there. Not that cheap tough, but fair price for what you get, most of the time. Didnt go to shopping but saw quite a lot famous trademark shops. It has lots of graffiti for urban culture lovers (go leongsk.com for street art guide walk). Has a lot of concerts too, IN music fest for example or Classic Zagreb.

Surprised at the choice of shops, cafes and restaurant’s, Amazing amount of historical old buildings with ornately decorated facias. Many others being renovated. A wealth of museums, street art and places of interest to take in. Visited quite a few different places, including vernacular train to the Upper town, visited ‘museum of broken relationships’ saw the sights in that zone - such as - St. Marks Church, George and Dragon statue, the gun tower, The Old tunnel gate and shrine etc. Had an enjoyable walk around the botanical garden too in the area of the train station. Found it to be very welcoming. Had a go at using the trams, managed to get tickets at small street shopping booth to go up to a cable car to ride up into the mountain, managed to get there, unfortunately was out of order for a couple of days, but at least we got there. Would need to visit Zagreb again one day, as this trip was a good start, but much more to explore.

The room was very comfortable: there was plenty of space and we were upgraded for free, the beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The breakfast is good value for money at 8€ and very complete. We also dined at the hotel and the food was ok. The hotel is 1 km away from the city center but there is a tram stop close by and you can buy your ticket inside the tram, which is very convenient.
