Nice city, been many times before but didn't have time to look around much this time. One night, and one day working. Come in the summer if you can when it's nice to walk around the harbour area and the backstreets with all their little restaurants and bars. It's expensive though - the oil capital of Norway. In October it was steady, non-stop rain.

Stavanger is beautiful, though I'm not sure I would feel the same if it were cruise ship season. We were lucky that we got clear views across the port for 2 out of the 3 nights we were there, as there was only one ship in overnight, but it can get busy apparently.
Lots of lovely walks, and a trip our to Lysfjord is a must. We also got the local bus to the Sverd i Fjord, which I loved seeing.
Vibrant restaurants and bars, and lots of great street art.

Breakfast are the best ever!!! The breakfast will be reason of my next visit in this hotel. Good location, it is in the city centre. Bus station is in front of the hotel. 25 min from the airport. There are everything in the room what you can need. Taxi order automat is at the reception and works very precise.
The staff at Stavanger, Clarion Hotel Stavanger is not only friendly, resourceful but also CARING. Unpredictability on the road is greatly mitigated by the heartfelt assistance from such a great team. This was a one-of-a-kind accommodation experience. Thank you Betty and Eric!
This is a good, basic and economic place to stay in Stavanger. We were made very welcome by the young student reception staff. The breakfast was good, plenty of parking, easy access to the port and city centre. Thank you for looking after us...
For Norway seemed reasonably priced. Twenty minute walk from down town Stavanger. Restaurant in same block looked nice, though we didn't use. Good big fridge.
