We love this hotel very much. The room is big with a nice view of the Japanese garden. The rooms and facility look very new and well maintained. The breakfast is Japanese style, served as an individual set. It's located very near the city center where the river boat boarding jetty is.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The pictures gave me the expectation that it will be quite a lousy place but the location and room were better than expected. They have a shared onsen and breakfast buffet included in the rate. The room size is bigger than on the picture. Overall, it was good for the money you are paying. Great that you can open the hotel windows. We drove and there's a parking area right at the lobby. Location: near to lots of food and shopping.
Great location, 5 mn walk from the major sights. Easy parking.
Vast, very comfortable room with all amenities you expect, and superb views over the famous canals and boatmen.
The onsen has excellent quality of water, leaving your skin incredibly smooth.
Breakfast buffet is fine.
This is a very special place because it's important historically. It was very magical to stay in a place like this. The room was spacious, the staff were professional and made everything in their hands to make our stay more special. It was my friend's birthday and we had a great time sipping nihonshu at the big tatami room. Would totally come back.
The property looks like it been recently renovated which is such a good surprise. Everything looks new with a giant flat-screen TV.
The room might look a little narrow but still can fit 4 beds.
There is an onsen in the hotel which was very nice and being a Ryokan, the price was very reasonable. Our booking also included breakfast - a japanese breakfast.
Joe's warmth and hospitality were exceptional. He gave us local recommendations for the hot springs and food in the area, which were both really good. He made us a delicious breakfast each day, which was very hearty, and we enjoyed the conversations with him throughout our stay. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the room spacious. The quality of linen gave us both a great night's sleep.
The breakfast was amazing! We had a room with tatamis, which was spacious and comfortable. The futons were pretty hard but we slept really well on them. It is a nice place to go if you want to do the boat tour on the canals and see something different than the usual touristic attractions. Also we ate really good unagi in the town.
