While the hotel was immaculate and the room was very comfortable, the shining star of this hotel was their hospitality. While the Japanese are known for their hospitality, the staff here were extraordinary. We had a private taxi rented for the whole day, who did not show up. While we didn’t speak very much Japanese, the staff noticed we were waiting, invited us to sit inside, called the taxi company, arranged for a new driver (with a different company) to take us and even gave the kids a treat while we waited. My wife and I were blown away and cannot recommend this hotel enough. They treated us like family.

Stand alone hotel on top of a hill overlooking Tokushima city. No traffic, it is a kind of nature reserve. I had a huge tatami room with panoramic windows. Very nice public bath. The room did have a private bathroom but no shower - Ryokan style.
Boasting an outdoor pool and natural hot spring baths, Awaji Hamarikyu is located in Minamiawaji. It features spa facilities, a library lounge and a gift shop on site.
Boasting prime views of Naruto Bridge and Naruto’s swirling sea current, Naruto Kaigetsu features a seasonal indoor pool, a sauna and a hot public bath with panoramic ocean views.
Featuring outdoor hot-spring baths with beautiful views of the Naruto Strait, traditional Japanese cuisine and massage services, Plaza Awajishima is 17 mi from Naruto Train Station.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
