My room was clean and simple, and the owners were kind to me and helpful about explaining how to use the shared bathroom. The property is a little far from the city, but it's an easy walk from the nearest bus stop and I really liked the local area.
Ryokan Meiryu is located a 3-minute walk from Kamimaezu Train Station and a 25-minute drive from Nagoya Castle. It offers Japanese-style accommodation with a public bath and free internet.

The ryokan is very nice with a big traditional bathouse opened 24h and very large and comfortable rooms.
The price is very low, at least compared to what I'm used to in Italy, and the staff was very nice and helpful(the owner was also worried for me when I arrived because I had told him that I would have left my luggage early in the morning but I ended up arriving at night).

The property was spacious for our group of 7. The tatami-style rooms offered much flexibility for our rooming needs. The bathrooms and toilets were also a good size, unlike most in Japan. The apartment was very well-stocked, from necessities such as linen and towels, to toiletries and kitchenware.
The check in procedure was contact-free but instructions were precise, hence it was very easy. Communication with the property staff was effortless, and I could choose either English or Mandarin. Enquiries were always answered quickly.
We needed help with regard to an issue, totally unrelated to our stay here, but the property staff was so helpful and went beyond their call of duty to assist us, and helped us resolve it. We are deeply touched by their willingness to help.
I would definitely recommend this property and will certainly choose it again when I’m in Nagoya again.

The hotel potrays the culture of Japan. I enjoyed the dinner and bath tubs so much
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The house is well equipped with a washing machine, electric toaster oven, and coffee machine with pods. There's a room with a double bed, and the rest of us sleep on tatami. The area is quiet, within walking distance to 7-11, and parking space is available.
Tatami room was a good size for a party of 4 but there was an “emergency exit” light which was on during the night so the room was greenish 😓. The common kitchen was good except for the mini oven which was dirty. Enough fridge space to store food. Overall we liked the place.
We came for a one night stay to go to Ghibli Park the next day. Room was clean and comfy, usual for APA hotels. Fluffy bedding! We especially liked the onsen on site. Always nice to relax after a day of travelling in the hot spring.
Fantastic location by Osu Kannon, LOVED the HUGE tatami room with lots of space for 4 persons, great hot spring, easy access to the Metro station, tons of restaurants nearby
Traditional ryokan, run by an elderly couple. They know limited English but enough to communicate and were very accommodating. Room was spacious and futon was comfortable.
The ryokan is near to a JR station and a lively neighborhood. I only stayed one night, but I liked it. The room and the bathroom were nice. I also received a yukata for the night.
