I liked that everything felt new and well kept. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. The sleep in a futon is good, but it is not a that good combination with the floor heating, as it was getting too hot on the floor. Except that, everything felt amazing, I enjoyed my stay at this ryokan.

Rooms are very comfortable, in the bath you have a bathtub that is really joyful. Staff was very nice as well. I enjoyed the hotels japenese style breakfast first day but on the second day me and my gf are kinda bored of eating fish on the breakfast so they gave us a coupon that covered our breakfast at the coffe 100 m away from the hotel. I can recommend. Location is also 8-10 minutes away from GION district.

The location is great. You can go to any spots almost within an hour by bus. The landlord is very informative, friendly and helpful. During our stay from Nov.20 to 29, I caught a cold and hurt my foot. And thanks to him, I was able to get the medical care that I need. Also the facilities are new and reliable. We had a very good time there. I highly recommend Mei Wa Inn if you want to travel to Kyoto.

The room was beautiful! It felt very special to be staying in a 200-year-old traditional Japanese home. The room is very spacious, fresh tatami mats throughout, and has a lovely view into the temple yard across the road. Our host (I wish I could remember her name!) was so gracious and helpful. The only reason we bumped the bed comfort down from "exceptional" is that we aren't used to sleeping on futons. The pillows were nice and the blankets were warm and cozy.
