Beautiful hotel with traditional Japanese room. Breakfast and dinner were presented beautifully and tasted the same! Good links to local expressways when driving. Would recommend

Breakfast was very nice. I enjoyed the japanese breakfast with fish; curry, oden with miso soup and rice. The osen would clean and not crowded. The area is great for hiking for all levels. I 76 yrs old...but the hike downhill from the hotel was beautiful. The few shops provide manji and cookies for purchase. The wifi was excellent. The local bus to Nihonmatsu is very cheap.
Kounkaku provides a sauna and free private parking, and is within 6.7 miles of Nihonmatsu Station and 17 miles of Koriyama Station. This 4-star ryokan offers ski storage space and an elevator.

Japanese style chamber, very quiet place, not noise from neighbor chambers
Onsen availability and late hour opening is very much appreciated.
Staff very kind and helpful
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The hotel is located close enough to the Train station that its a comfortable walk. also it makes it easy to catch a bus if youd rather do that. The breakfast was a nice addition, but when it comes to value for money, the onsen definitely made the hotel worth every penny!
