Kitakaruizawa Kogen Hotel, hotel in Tsumagoi

Located within 38 km of Honmachi Machiyakan and 41 km of Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, Kitakaruizawa Kogen Hotel provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Tsumagoi.

I have stayed for almost a week in a winter. room was pretty well heated and showers were hot. It is a nice quiet place surrounded by nature and a really impressive volcano park nearby. You should have a car to come here or be really adventurous for a far walk from a train station (as i did and enjoyed it) Owner was kind enough to give me a ride. thank you.

柏屋旅館<シェアハウス&ゲストハウス>, hotel in Saku

Boasting garden views, 柏屋旅館<シェアハウス&ゲストハウス> offers accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace, around 15 km from Honmachi Machiyakan.

This place was beautiful! Situated near Nakagomi train station in a mall area that is somewhat quiet, perhaps due to the after-effects of COVID, but still has lots of restaurants within close proximity. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and easy to communicate with despite my lack of Japanese. I had a triple room to myself and it was a lovely, spacious room for a decent price. The bathroom is outside of the room but there was a sink within. The shower is downstairs but it is private. Highly recommend.

Bessho Onsen Midoriya, hotel in Ueda

Located 30 km from Honmachi Machiyakan, Bessho Onsen Midoriya offers accommodation with a balcony, as well as a garden.

The staff were lovely. The food was some of the best we've had so far in 2 weeks across Japan staying at similar priced Onsens. The baths were amazing. The tech in the Onsen uses your mobile phone for QR code access to the property, to contact staff and to see when the baths were available - it was very convenient.
