Kirishima Momijidani Seiryuso, hotel in Kirishima

Kirishima Momijidani Seiryuso in Kirishima provides accommodations with an open-air bath, a garden, and a terrace.

The place is truly authentic, ppl may describe it as old but it's can't be more wrong. I would describe it as rustic and serene, especially with the river beside it. Yes!! A running river, not much of a great sight but the sound of flowing water bring peace to your soul. Also, there's a private and excusive onsen beside the river, you just have to reserve it. Now to the most important aspect, the staff of Seiryuso. The hotel manager, Kajiki san set the benchmark for top notch hospitality. He has a bubbling personality, always giving out good vibes and positive energy. Always ready to serve and provide service. Always service with a smile.😊😊😊. Well, Japanese are known to provide great service but this is a whole other level. A special shout-out to the restaurant crew, specifically the service staff, didn't manage to get all their names other than matsuyi san. Kudos to the other gentlemen that provided the service.

Great location near to the bus stop. Enjoyable onsen baths but we couldn’t try the famous mud bath because it was under renovation. Buffet dinner was fine.

The house is great and clean, it has been through renovation. Yuki-san is an excellent host. Traditional tatami room and comfy futon. Bathroom with laundry and dryer, onsen coming straight from the sink for a soothing bath. I will come here again when I am around Kirishima

Outdoor onsen next to car park so it was necessary to walk out in the cold (1 minute) before getting to a bath. But by gosh the onsen water was hot! After our bath we were so toasty and warm we could have walked around in our yukata for ages! Fantastic location of hotel as next to Lawson and main info area. Good kaiseki breakfast served by genuinely warm and lovely obasan. Friendly. Just opposite a great bbq beef restaurant.

Spacious and warm home. Our host Shiro is really friendly & hospitable. We were welcomed with tea and homemade cheesecake. Every morning we woke up to freshly made breakfast with fresh produce from his garden. We love the private onsen best and to be able to sleep viewing the stars in the warmth of the tatami room. Location is a great base to explore Kirishima & Mt Karakuni, many waterfalls & relax with nature.

Staying at this Ryokan was a fantastic experience. We opted for the set dinner and breakfast, which were elaborate and delicious, and enjoyed the riverside and indoor family onsens. I was expecting some formality, but very friendly staff (English spoken) and relaxed atmosphere. Very good written information about Japanese bathing customs etc. Also, although not cheap, very good value.
