Love the facility has bike rental, wonderful hospitality and amenities. Staff was super friendly and quality. Would love to come back but hoping to get more discount for multiple stay.
Newly renovated in 2022, Kobayashiya -Kinosaki Onsen- blends the history and tradition of Japan with the modernity. Guests are welcomed by a luxurious new lobby, decorated in earthen wall.

Since this is our first time staying in a Ryokan, we're glad to be entreated to a tour of the place ( read: common private baths within the Ryokan as there is no bath area in each room), choosing the yukata and in general easing into the culture of living in a Japanese inn. We enjoyed the fresh quality of the food served at each meal ( breakfast and kaiseki dinner), and really liked the location of Kobayashiya which faces the Otani River. It's a place of furnished with modern amenities and carrying a rustic charm that we hope to return to again someday. The staff who attended to us made sure to put our luggage in the room neatly, and were patient to lead us to the restaurant at each meal.
Yamamotoya is a 7-minute walk from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station and a free 2-way shuttle is provided. It offers Japanese-style accommodations with a brewery, a hot-spring bath and free Wi-Fi.

The ryokan was exceptionally clean and the staff was amazingly helpful. There was a number of staff who spoke english fluently. They have their own microbrewery and you can have beer delivered to your room until 10 (if that’s your thing). The room was beautiful and clear instructions were provided for the onsens, yukata, and ryokan. While the listing says the bath for Yamamatoya is open until 12AM, we were told we could go in all night. The bath here at the ryokan was super nice and private, and had both an indoor and outdoor section.
A 5-minute walk from the Kinosaki Onsen Ropeway, Japanese inn 城崎温泉 但馬屋-Tajimaya- features luxurious accommodations and cuisine, hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi throughout the property.

Our stay at Asagiriso was exceptional! The staff showed us exceptional hospitality, especially Miyaguchi-san at the front desk who went above and beyond. The hotel facilities are clean and in excellent condition; the room was spacious for two people and equipped with everything we needed and had extra touches for comfort. The bath at the hotel was lovely and it was easy to walk to other bathhouses in town. The hotel is located a little bit off the main walking area, which we liked because it meant it was quiet and peaceful. We could see some nesting storks and the river from our room, which was such a treat! The breakfast buffet was excellent, with many options to choose from and satisfy various tastes. We are deeply grateful to the staff at Asagiriso for providing us with such a wonderful stay. Exceeded our expectations and made for a lasting memory!
A note, my partner is able to communicate in Japanese and so he did most of the talking but all of the information and instructions were available in multiple languages and I truly think anyone would be well taken care of, regardless of language.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The location is great-- very close to the train station and an easy walk to all the onsens. It is above a coffee shop with great coffee and a foot soak area (the reception is the coffee shop counter). They give you a basket with towels and socks for toting to the onsens, which is much appreciated. The room was spare, but incredibly clean. The internet worked well. Breakfast was simple but good (yogurt, toast, hard boiled egg, slaw, sausage and coffee).
Absolutely fantastic location, just opposite the station and within walking distance of restaurants and onsens. Nice to have a private bathroom which isn’t always an option in Japan.
great location right next to the station. a great cafe on the ground floor and foot bath. rooms were big, bright and had private bathroom!!! (something very difficult to find in Kinosaki) - no shower but I guess you bathe at the onsens
The hotel is clean, Staff is very friendly, it’s located within 1 minute walk from the kinosaki train station, yukatas free of charges it’s amazing, The breakfast is great.
