Our stay at Zen no Yu was a real highlight of our time in Japan. We had the kaiseki dinner the evening of our arrival and the breakfast in the morning. Both were excellent! Starting with reception, the whole experience of the inn, from the temple grounds to the quiet shared spaces to the provision of yukata, creates an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation. The onsens were clean and inviting--I especially enjoyed the open air bathing on the back deck. Plus, the reserved time in our own couples bath in the evening was fantastic! Highly recommended!

The best facilities at the property was the in room balcony onsen and the public hot stone spa room. It’s a 15-minute walk from the Kawazu Sakura river walk so it’s convenient to get there.

This was a fairly, though not overly traditional ryokan that has exceptional pool, sauna and onsen facilities. Considering the price, you get way more than you pay for. The staff are extremely courteous and attentive.

The staff at Hiina was extremely kind and considerate. They went above and beyond. The onsens were lovely and relaxing. The stay was very clean and they had many thoughtful touches. I would stay here again!
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Good, classic-style beach resort. All rooms face the beach, so you can sleep with ocean sounds. Comfortable room, pleasant beachside, and a nice onsen to complete.
This place is a luxury, you are treated exceptionally well, the staff is extremely helpful and kind and so very welcoming. The amenities and location are just amazing, you can walk along the beach as it's right across the street, There are only a few rooms so it is very peaceful, the onsens are amazing, the staff made us wonderful ice coffee to relax with outside as well. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Everything was positive about this ryokan! Staff were extremely friendly. The onsen bath in your private balcony was fantastic, having the luxury of enjoying onsen in your room. They also had two private onsen rooms which you can book to use for free!
We stayed for two nights and had kaiseki for dinner both nights, which were amazing as well. It was truly an unforgettable experience staying here.
Very charming and cosy. Authentic japanese atmosphere. Tatamis room is PERFECTLY CLEAN, as well as bedding. View on the ocean. Fridge, TV, kettel, tea set.WONDERFUL 2 private ONSEN, indoor and outdoor, each one different. Delicious japanese Breakfast. Free wifi. Owner speaks a little english and is very helpfull. A must go .
Very nice traditional Japanese ryokan with beautiful inside or outside onsen, nice views of the ocean and really amazing food. The staff were exceptional and Hideo San was friendly, helpful and went out of this way to make sure we had a good time. Would 100% recommend this hotel.
Fantastic location, first property at the beach side and only 5 minutes from the train station.
Well preserved installations/facilities (tatami floor rooms with a sea view, restaurant hall, lobby, onsen areas).
Fantastic selection of food for dinners and breakfast as part of the meal plans, cooked perfectly and served just as well.
Finally, and for us most importantly, the staff is simply exceptional. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived till we left. Our stay was fantastic already, but they made it perfect.
