The proximity to Lake Inawashiro was the main draw for this location. Breakfast must be reserved beforehand, or be prepared to go hungry. This could have been mentioned during check-in.

A few days before the start of our journey, the hotel contacted us to say that they were unfortunately unable to provide us with the room due to work. However, they offered to book a room for us at their partner hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away at Kutsurogijuku Shintaki.
The staff were very accommodating and even when we asked for a vegan dinner, everything was made possible.
We were very satisfied.

Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The pool costs extra, however it's worth the trip in of itself. Quiet and calm places. She gave us some delicious grapes as we left. Good facilities in the bathroom.
A real authentic Ryokan feel - very clean and welcoming
