I really like the outside bath and the size of the room. I was worried because in the photos it doesn’t look spacious but once I got there is was really big. The room exceed my expectations and if I am ever in the area I’ll like to rebook.
The hotel on the highest altitude in Hokkaido at 4.2 feet high, Ryounkaku features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, a 5-minute walk from the ski area at Mount Furano-dake.
Located right in the Tokachigawa hot spring area, Kamihoroso offers traditional Japanese-style accommodations with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and futon bedding.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Host Takaaki was friendly and helpful. The location was quiet and secluded, as it was a 20-min drive to town. The rooms were spacious and tatami beds comfortable. The kitchenette was well-equipped and everything worked. We were even supplied with milk, juices, eggs and bread for our breakfast. Great value for money, especially given all the overpriced properties in town.
Private onsen and convenient access. Free icecream after hot spring.
Nice view, see mountain from hot spring floor and train rail from the room.
Breakfast was brilliant.
It is located at a quiet and peaceful area, with great onsen, both jacuzzi and outdoor onsen are available. The tatami room was also great, especially if you like the tatami and futon experience.
Pension Ashitaya is an excellent place to stay as a base for skiing/snowboarding in Furano. The owner Jimmy-san is a kind man who graciously provided transport to and from the slopes and a restaurant every day. Outstanding value with the tatami and shared bathroom/ bath onsen. Truly exceeded expectations. Humble Japanese hospitality at its finest.
I liked the price. The room smelled like new tatami mats, not moldy. The front desk person was nice. A good amount of parking. Location was close to where I wanted to be. The futons were comfortable because we slept on all the mattresses and winter blankets. Not many bugs.
It's a very nice hotel with an amazing hot spring area. It has several options indoors and outdoors plus sauna and massage chairs. Amazing views from room and onsen.
Everything was very clean and the staff very friendly.
Charming and clean, classic, older style lodge/chalet with super hot onsen. Helpful and friendly multilingual staff, generous with their welcome drinks. Comfy tatami bedding in Japanese stye rooms. Coin laundry. Cooked, semi-buffet breakfast. Baby grand piano and guitar for use in lobby.
