This traditional inn is a little jewel. We were blown away by the kindness and hospitality of the ladies who run the place. It’s located a bit outside of town, but Emi and Junko were always happy to give us a ride. The meals are gorgeously prepared feasts - good luck if you can finish! The hotel also arranged a “Zazen experience” at a historic temple nearby, which was very interesting. We will treasure our memories of the Totoro and its wonderful staff!

First of all, the foods were all delicious. Eat all you can was definitely more than worthy of the price. Our room with the view of the lake was really comforting. The location of the hotel was close to all the famous tourist spot around the area.

beautiful garden with fall foliage while seeing snow on the surrounding mountains. the room where we slept was warm and lots of warm blankets were available. the food was exceptional with several courses and everyone was very welcoming and extremely nice. the team was very accomodating with food preferences/sensitivities. also we were picked up at the train station and dropped off at Magome the next day.

Room was affordable, clean, and comfortable. Check in process was quick and easy. The hotel lobby was nicely set up so that guests could hang out. Plenty of tables and seats available. There was even a little origami station set up; the staff makes an effort to introduce interesting activities for guests.

Open air Onsen was wonderful. Large and not crowded. Breakfast and dinner buffet were very good. Tasty and plentiful. Complimentary wine, beer and highballs, soft serve ice cream were very nice amenities. Staff were very warm.

For an authentic Japanese Inn experience, Tajimaya is one of the best to do it. For those that don't know, it's over 100 years old. One of the last remaining Edo-period Japanese Post Town, it's a must see.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The tatami room is large and very clean.

Outstanding property which exceeded our expectations in all fronts. Peaceful, clean and such a great example of ryokan hospitality in rural Japan. Toki is an exceptional host who warmed our hearts with friendly and loving care - using google translate we had alot of laughs. You are a very special person Toki and definitely a highlight of our trip. Toki was very helpful with organising things with and for us and Iwamura is a beautiful quiet town with no westerners. The Enakyo Onsen Hotel Yuzuriha was our favourite hotel. The location is beautiful. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The onsen was clean, and the outdoor onsen was a highlight. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were helpful in booking restaurants and taxi when needed. We also enjoyed the karaoke room, and my children liked the video games. We would definitely stay here again.
We booked this hotel because we couldn't find one for our date at Magome itself. And were we glad! We had such a beautiful room, overlooking the river and the mountains! The onsen was super. And we rested very well after the red-eye flight and more than an hour drive. The breakfast that came with the room was really great!!
Beautiful place and location. Very comfortable although the rest room was not en-suite. The rooms were wonderful tatami style, the onsen just right and very good food. Most importantly the host was very helpful and kind. I highly recommend this hotel.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms had a lot of space and comfortable futon. Nice little onsen as well. Everything was so neat and tidy.
