The authenticity of this ryokan is evident in its dark wood floors, beamed ceilings, sliding doors and shoji screens.
The view from our room included egrets and herons coming and going along the small river behind the ryokan and fields of golden grain between the river and the mountains.
The comforters on the floor futons kept us snug and warm, but we welcomed the use of the heat pump in the morning when the air and floor were cold. A tea service and electric water kettle are provided. Two chairs are in the room
Lovely omanju and rejuvenating lemon tea were provided on arrival as we'll as a warm towel to wipe your hand and face with.
The dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The dishes came in slow succession so you can enjoy each presentation and savor each dish without rushing. After both dinner and breakfast, there is a beverage service provided offering cordials, healthy teas, coffee and medicinal concoctions.
