The onsen on the balcony was AMAZING. We were able to set it to the right temperature for us and it was always perfect.
It was snowing when we arrived, so we had a perfect winter wonderland view.
We also took advantage of the breakfast and dinner buffets and the Kaiseki meal, they were all delicious.

A few days before the start of our journey, the hotel contacted us to say that they were unfortunately unable to provide us with the room due to work. However, they offered to book a room for us at their partner hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away at Kutsurogijuku Shintaki.
The staff were very accommodating and even when we asked for a vegan dinner, everything was made possible.
We were very satisfied.

Wonderful experience. We visited in the winter and the room was very warm, comfortable and clean. Sitting under the kotatsu while drinking tea was super pleasant.
The establishment itself has a very traditional, historic japanese look, both inside and out, and is very well preserved and walking around it was a very memorable experience.
The private bath was also great and soaking in it was very relaxing.
The traditional japanese breakfast was served in front of an indoor fireplace and was delicious.
The staff were very pleasant and hospitable and made the entire stay memorable.
It was also snowing outside and a night walk around the surrounding area was very peaceful and felt quite magical.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view. I imagine it would be even more stunning during autumn. The service was exceptional, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. They even prepared a special kids' meal for my son, which was so thoughtful. If we ever have the chance to visit this city again, we would definitely stay here

We stayed in the annex, in a room overlooking the Aga River. It was incredibly beautiful to see that view every day. The room was well-equipped, with comfortable futon, yukata, bathroom, fridge and onsen amenities.
The large public bath and rotenburo in the main hotel were excellent.
This ryokan’s lovely, very comfortable, the room is spacious, futon very comfy, we spent a excellent night. The hot bath before going to sleep is perfect too ! And the breakfast is very good.
This is a gorgeous Japanese inn (Ryokan). The lady who runs it speaks good English and is very kind, friendly and helpful, as are the staff. The room was beautiful and I slept comfortably on my futon after a dip in the private bath. I had breakfast in the morning and it was one of the best Japanese breakfasts I’d had and so beautifully presented. The hotel is a 15 min walk from the station and therefore, within a 15 min walk there are quite a few places to eat. The owner can help you with all the recommendations of Aizu Wakamatsu too.
A very special and traditional, relatively small and personal ryokan. Highlights are the dining rooms, where the guests sit around (on tatami) traditional fire places. The food is partly roasted over charcoal. Although basic communication in English works, some knowledge of Japanese language and culture is very helpful. If you go there during the week, you can stay for a really attractive price…
nice big room with balcony. view on the mountain side.
loved the yukata they provided. they are not always this nice. ^^
we appreciated the onsen very much as we walked a lot during our stay in Aizu.
The atmosphere and ambiance are very peaceful. This is a place to stay if you want to have a nice ryokan and onsen experience. Everything is basically straightforward. Staff is not proficient in english, but if you use google Translate, that will help. The food was great with japanese traditional breakfast and dinner. The whole experience was excellent. The onsen was also good. So if you like onsen, most likely, this is a place to go.
quite rare Onsen-ryokan originally built 100 years ago and still keeps its 60‘s interior and service style. my stay was full of nostalgia, thank all guys who support this hotel.
Lovely traditional Ryokan with meals cooked and served sitting on the tatami floor around an Irori sunken fire. The staff attended to cooking the various courses over the hot coals and even breakfast was cooked this way. It was delicious and a great experience. Nice onsen and lovely staff and nostalgic old building.
