This has to be the best place on Mafia island. Set apart from town, on a bluff with a commanding view of the sea, and the sunset, three very stylish - and huge - rooms, large infinity pool, great food, superb manager in Ali and his excellent assistant Salama. Mafia is great - a paradise Indian Ocean island just open enough to be accessible and for everything to be easy to arrange - but it feels like the big tourist rush is yet to arrive. And Kilekeni, a short hop from town, the airport or the busier east coast, is one of its most serene and supremely relaxing spots.

Situated in Kilindoni, 6 km from Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, Butiama Beach Lodge features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. The property is beautiful, food is delicious, and the staff was very kind. I highly recommend Butiama to anyone traveling abroad. Magida island was phenomenal because of their hospitality.

Set a few steps from Big Blu Mafia Island Diving Center in Utende, Butiama Marine Camp welcomes guests with a restaurant and bar. Free private parking is available on site. Great place with amazing staff. The food was great and we enjoyed the variety. Mafia is beautiful and it is worth a visit to the village.
