The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel right at home. They take care of everything for you from arranging safari's to taking care of every meal. The location of this property is a 10 -15 min walk from a beautiful lake and a small portion of the national park where you can spot deer, birds and other wildlife. It's difficult to otherwise get around without a tuktuk. The hotel arranges one for you if needed. Don't miss a visit to the elephant transit home at feeding time! The sri lankan food was delicious and homely, we enjoyed every meal.

Jag, min fru och två barn hade förmånen att få hyra två bungalows här en natt och åkte morgonen efter på safari som hotellet ordnade. Resan var speciell för oss eftersom jag och min fru firade att vi varit gifta i 15 år. Paret som ägde stugorna gjorde verkligen att vi kände oss välkomna! Allt från att de förberett rummet med väldoftande kryddor, vikt handdukarna till en elefant till att de avslutade en mycket god middagsbuffe med att bjuda på en god hemlagad chokladtårta för att uppmärksamma vår bröllopsdag! Jag uppskattade särskilt att de var så flexibla tex att ordnade så att vi kunde äta frukosten som ingick i boendet efter att vi sett matningen av baby elefanterna i Elephant transit home. Jag uppskattade också att få prova goda lokala specialiteter till frukost. Rummen var stora och rena och safarin var prisvärd och guiden var jättebra. Det som utmärkte denna övernattning var dock framförallt hur vänliga och serviceinriktade värdparet var. Det känns verkligen som att vi var gäster hemma hos dem och vi tar med oss deras varma leenden i våra hjärtan!

I booked CBS Resort at the last minute because of my tight schedule. I wasn't expecting much, but I was so surprised when I arrived at the property -- the whole area was huge and well-kept, the facilities were above par, and the ambience was serene. In the middle of the property is a man-made bird sanctuary, where thousands of trees were deliberately planted that various species of birds just decided to stay in the area. The sounds of the birds add to the amazing one-with-nature vibe of the place. The room I stayed in was extraordinarily spacious - I had a king size bed, sofa, closet, and larger than usual bathroom. The beddings and the towels were all clean and fresh. It also has an efficient AC, a ceiling fan, and a large TV. Aside from being very clean, the room also has a high ceiling, which reinforces the airy-ness and easy feeling a guest would have in the room. I couldn't ask for more. The best part of CBS Resort is its people. When I told the manager that my only agenda in Udawalawe was the safari but that I was having a problem because I was running out of cash since most establishments in the area don't accept credit cards, he helped arrange a safari tour for me at a discounted price! And when I told him that I only have dollars in cash, he contacted the owner of the resort, who then came to the resort all the way from his home several kilometers away, just so he could change my dollars to rupee at the current rate published on the internet! The next day, the staff prepared my breakfast to-go so I could enjoy it at the safari. The safari jeep I got was quite new and very comfortable. The guide I got was a cousin of the owner of the resort. He was very knowledgeable of the animals and the different areas of the National Park, and had very sharp eyes that he could spot animals from a mile away. Thanks to him, I was able to see a lot of animals up close, especially elephants! Upon returning to CBS Resort, my Sri Lankan lunch was ready.

We stayed at Chill House Safari resort and also did the safari with our host, Hashan. Our room and bathroom were clean and equipped with everything we needed. The location was peaceful and surrounded by trees and wildlife while still close by the main road. We decided to have one meal at the accommodation and Hashan went out to find all the specific ingredients to make polos, which we really wanted to try. It was delicious!😋His wife and son were also very nice and always around. Our safari tour with the family went great too! It’s totally worth it. We saw quite a lot of elephants and many other animals in the park. Hashan really knows his way around well and is great at spotting anyone hiding in the bushes or trees. He also answered all of our questions about the different species. Overall, we recommend the whole experience offered at Chill House Safari Resort!❣️

The gardens are full of mango and other fruit trees which are filled with all sorts of wildlife like monkeys, birds and giant squirrels. The staff were very helpful and arranged a safari tour to Udawalawe for us which was great. The Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing.
