Rafters Retreat is located amidst nature in Kitugala, Sri Lanka. At the property, guests can enjoy the views from their river-facing rooms, and arrange for an adventure filled day of white water rafting, cycling or diving. the location is amazing, right next to the river, with great rooms that open straight out onto it. the communal areas are also quite spectacular and very relaxing. Channa and his family who own the retreat are lovely and so helpful; they took us kayaking, showed us round the family home and the cinnamon production area, arranged activities for us. Rafting is the main reason people come, but there are lots of other activities that they can arrange for you besides that, like birdwatching and trips to caves, or cycling trips, so consider spending more time here and speaking to Channa about what else you can do

Exceptional, unique resort! You fall asleep on the music of the jungle, see fire flies at night and wake up on the sound of crickets. We absolutely loved this place! The food was great and the tours they recommended us were great! Thanks you to the Wanakest crew, we had a memorable stay!
The resort is very new and there is everything you would need for a nice stay. The bed was super comfortable as well. The owners are lovely and make sure you are always comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place because it has a lot of potential! The location point is not correct on Google Maps, but you can get to the right place by following the directions in the previous review.
Very very beautiful place and idea. Peacock village is located 200m from resort. So there is good amount of privacy and not far from shops or restaurants. There are always personnel nearby you can seek and ask for anything. Big up for our guide Andrew who took us everywhere we wanted, was never late, always super nice and polite.
Lovely stay on the river listening to the sounds of nature while you sleep. One side of the chalets are fully open which is perfect for nature lovers. Surprisingly there are hardly any bugs in the chalets. They keep them really clean. Great value for money, and run by a great team. The meals are enormous and homely. They organise a lovely 1.5 hr rafting trip which ends at the resort itself for 35 usd. The rapids are light, nothing overbearing, great for beginners.
Sleeping in nature but with all the luxury of a normal room. Monkeys and other animals around. I was a super nice experience. Two things really stood out: the food and the lovely people.
Moksha is in the most beautiful setting of Kitulgala. Its a real luxury set within the true nature of the area. The rooms are a great size and well looked after. Having both the pool and the natural pools side by side are a real treat. The one aspect that stood out to me and my friends was the personal touch that the hotel gave us! It was something we had not experienced before. The staff were fabulous and attended to all our needs. The family that own Moksha are an absolute delight and we hope to see them again.
