Amazing place to stay on an amazing island. TSUMUYA was a welcome and relaxing respite during our month long trip. The house is not luxury but beautifully curated and comfortable with an extraordinary range of art books. Perfect to explore the superb galleries and museums that are all in close proximity. Highly recommend renting an e-bike to make sure you explore everything. Amazing and thoughtful service from the owners including great communication, good advice and help transferring luggage. A real highlight of our trip.
This was a budget friendly option for me. Although it doesn't offer the luxury of a good hotel stay, it does have really good facilities. The location was OK. There are two great family restaurants a minute from the property. But it is in a small fishing village, which, although charming, doesn't have nightlife. The bus stop is just outside the property, and you can easily get to all the art installations and museums on the local bus. The owner was really helpful. He dropped me at the ferry port on my last day.
Everything. Not a single defect. Japanese luxury at its best. Worth every penny. Staff was remarkable too. As was everything really.
I particularly enjoyed the location; a short walk from the nearest Kotoden Station and the hotel is physically connected to the Central Takamatsu Shopping Arcades, Arriving by taxi in a rainstorm; after check-in, I was immediately able to stroll around some 2.7km of covered shopping arcades, (including luxury shops, department stores, restaurants, etc.), without the need for an umbrella. Rooms well equipped; particularly impressed by the provision of extra pillows in the room, as I need to elevate my head whilst sleeping.
Nice, simple place. No luxury but what you need after a long day filled with art and beaches. Bed is hard (madrass on the floor - Japan style is quite hard so for soft westerners it's a bit uncomfortable the first night). Staff is super nice! Everything is clean and did not see a single bug.
Great welcoming experience from the staff and outstanding service in the restaurant.
