Senboku
Tazawako Lake Resort & Onsen is set in Senboku and offers a hot springs bath. Guests can use the ski storage space and enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. Kakunodate Town is a 20-minute drive away from the accommodation. The buffet was great, the onsen also, very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back. The hotel is near a big Buddha statue with a nice park. To the lake you can walk in 30 minutes or take the bus. To the trainstation they offer a free shuttle service.
It was so central and close to the station - we thought this would make it noisy but it was super quite and really luxury to just walk downstairs to your hotel :) The staff members were really lovely and helpful and the rooms were spacious and very comfy beds.
This hotel is more like a resort in the mountains but keeping the spirit of a ryokan. The building is a bit dated but in good condition. The staff provided attentive service and were helpful. The meals were buffet style with some things prepared in the moment by a chef, which means that the food was plentiful.
