King Fisher Village

Tarrafal

King Fisher Village has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Tarrafal. Located around 700 metres from Mar di Baxu Beach, the resort with free WiFi is also less than 1 km away from Tarrafal Beach. The accommodation offers room service, a concierge service and organising tours for guests. The hotel has an amazing location by the coast - you can even hear the waves as you sleep from the seaside rooms. The staff was very friendly, and the hotel restaurant has the best food in Tarrafal. Wi-Fi worked well

Maison Residencial casa de ferias

Pedra Badejo

With garden views, Maison Residencial casa de ferias is located in Pedra Badejo and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, outdoor fireplace and picnic area. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, table tennis, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, free shuttle service and currency exchange for guests. Every day a sumptuous breakfast was prepared before my eyes with an abundance of fresh fruit and fresh fruit juices, coffee and tea as well. Tap water comes from a local well and is delivered by a community distribution system. It is not treated with any chemicals and tastes very well. The water seems to be relatively soft insofar I can judge that from showering. The nature of the location and the community (of about 15,000 inhabitants) is such that everything you may need is only a short walk away including transportation, banking, food supplies, restaurants, barber shop, travel agency, you name it. The sea and beach are also close-by at about a 10 minute walk. Everything is extremely reasonably priced. The climate is truly fabulous and exceptionally mild and pleasant, typically 21 min to 27 max degr. Celsius, without ever any need for AC or even a fan at my location and facility, if you can open your windows the beneficial sea breeze will be your comfort supplier. No bugs to speak of cause any discomforts...just kill one tiny mosquito and you're good. My windows remained open every day of my stay, screens or not. The island of Santiago has a very good infrastructure with stable Internet and electricity supplies. Roads are well paved and free of potholes. Animals can stray onto the road which requires extra caution after darkness, I imagine, I just didn't try. The local marketing around the area of the hotel provides a very lively and enjoyable atmosphere. There's public/private transportation available in different modalities and prices, but the excellent taxis, mostly electric, the top of the cream, are still not expensive for European or American standards, but much cheaper comfortable buses can be had. Local people are open, helpful and communicative without ever bothering you with anything. No pushy selling for instance. The same goes for the children, they are adorable but don't ever bother you because you are a stranger.
