Alofa, as its name suggests, is located on the beach and is near local villages. The accommodation is basic, but has its own special charm. Our local hosts, Glen and his sister, were very kind and helpful. While the menu options were limited, Glen's fried chicken and chips were quite decent. We really enjoyed swimming at the local beach where the locals swim. More luxurious resorts offer more comfort, but we felt we experienced the real Tanna staying at Alofa.

Becky and Glen were absolutely lovely, so helpful when we had an issue as soon as we arrived and great throughout the stay! The bungalows were right by the beach, spacious and had private bathrooms which was a luxury too! Definitely good value for money and really enjoyed! Breakfast was also included, simple but tasty and filling.

The views, comfort, services, food, tours were excellent. The staff were very welcoming and courteous. The complimentary airport transfer was good and convenient. The resort was a 5 min drive from the airport too. The tours depart from the resort which made it easier. The swimming pool and snorkeling close to the resort was nice. Blue cave and Mount yasur tours which we did, were so easy to book from the resort. 2 separate bathrooms for a family was a bonus. Very happy to have booked the resort during our stay.

Breakfast was nice, more variety than we had had at other resorts. Transport into the markets on market mornings - finally something you don't hVE TO Py for.

Located a 5/10 minute drive from the airport and 5 minute walk from White Grass Resort with restaurant/ bar. Garden bungalow was quiet with simply furnished room. Small bathroom/ shower. Fan provided cooling option as limited breeze. One chair on the deck. Staff were very friendly. Pool was pleasant. Dinner and lunch were simple and fresh meals with the dining room having a small deck overlooking the ocean. Simple breakfast fresh fruit/ bread /pancakes plus baked beans.

Great location. Veronika is an excellent cook. The price for transportation to the volcano is 3000 watts less than in the surrounding resorts. Veronika's husband took us to a local village with a Kava tasting and indigenous dancers. I highly recommend.

I can’t imagine that there is a better resort on Tanna. For anyone visiting the Bahai House of Worship you want to stay here. The r sort will need some renovation in a couple of years but not now. Great staff, thank you

We really liked the idea of sponsoring the locals by going to this resort as it was owned by Tom's family. Breakfast and lunch were good. You eat with an amazing view. Unfortunately Margareth did not cook dinner and Tom is a great guide, an even better driver, but cooking is not his stronger side. There are two resorts close by with very decent food. The Blue hole 1 or 2 is right in front of the resort and it was amazing to swim and snorkel in there. Great spot for whale watching.

Location and price are amazing. Room is sufficient. However I would not recommend for elderly or anyone with mobility issues. Would also recommend to resort to have communication board for guests to communicate to staff for your and food requirements when no one is around .
