The location is amazing, a block from the waikiki beach, lots of great food and shopping around. Whilst the pool is small, the pool area is nice to lounge in and we spent a lot of time down there reading and relaxing in the sun. The rooms are a good size and the balcony was nice to have as well. It's also great value if you can't afford the fancier hotels and resorts along waikiki.
The location and amenities were very nice if you are traveling with a family. We were two adults. If you are looking for a family friendly activities resort with young children - this is your spot. If you are adults and looking for some peace and quiet this is not your spot.
The resort grounds were great in some areas and meh in others. The lagoon area smelled awful, the water was low and the area in general just seemed dirty.
The location was good, close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The adjacent ABC Store had hot and cold food items for breakfast. We felt safe at the resort and in the area.

What a gem. The location could not be better. The staff were lovely. We had an upgraded room which was huge. The beach right off the hotel is perfect for small children with a water break. I know people have complained about the breakfast but we found it to be a completely acceptable buffet continental breakfast for a 3-star hotel. This isn't an all-inclusive resort so just set your expectations accordingly. If you want something fancier there are plenty of other options around.
We LOVED staying here. It was a luxury resort, on a small scale. Exactly what we wanted visiting and enjoying the beautiful Hawaii. The staff were helpful and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the bar in the evening.
My entire stay from check in to departure was wonderful. The staff was always pleasant, smiling and helpful, the restaurants provided a nice variety of options for dining and my shopping experiences at several places were high quality customer service. This resort was a perfect all inclusive stay for me because I didn't want to get around the islands, I came to rest and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii. The Alii Tower had it's own concierge and I had a view of the beach and ocean that topped it all off.
