What was once a run-down motel has now become a charming mid-century modern design/boutique resort. The setting is idyllic and ideal: walking distance to half a dozen excellent restaurants and unique shops. Sure -- the bathrooms are old and funky, but that -- and a few other quirks -- are all that is keeping this place from become hip and trendy and costing $600/night. Very dog friendly, too. Great pastries and good morning coffee. Great manager. We love it.
Every detail was attended to, including welcome glass of rose and help with bags/ room operations. Heated floors in the bath and gratis snacks in the room, comfy beds and nice pool round out what we expect from a top tier resort.
property charges me multiple times after check out. Also charging the full amount on two occasions, after admitting they were incorrect the first time. if you claim to be a luxury resort there shouldn’t be problems like this. get it right the first time
Unbelievable location. We consider Bernardus to be the most romantic and charming resort we have ever stayed at. The property is amazing, and so was their staff. The standard room is nice, but we did request to re-locate after a night to what turned out to be a fantastic room, which was larger with a great view. We were there for a week, so the right room was important to us.
Greeted with glass of wine! Beds are comfortable, complimentary drinks and snacks in room are a wonderful addition. Resort is close to wineries and cafes in the valley. Easy access to garland park and miles of hiking. Room service breakfast was amazing- delicious and generous! Food was fresh and well prepared. We had drinks by the fire pit and near bocce court- gorgeous surroundings.
Not much positive--mediocre property billed as a luxury resort
