We recently spent five nights at the Yao Bada Badoo Boutique Resort on Koh Yao Yai—and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Initially, we had only planned to stay for three nights, but the tranquility and charm of this place persuaded us to extend for two more nights. This new hotel with only a handful of exclusive rooms is an absolute gem, brimming with artful touches and thoughtful details.
The resort features two pools and stylish common areas perfect for relaxing. The rooms are perfectly clean, offering stunning views of both the jungle and the sea. The service was exceptional; the owner and the team went above and beyond, always ready to assist with arranging motorbikes, excursions, transfers, and more.
Just a short 150-meter walk from the hotel, there’s a pathway leading down to the beach. From there, we enjoyed long strolls along the shoreline, all the way to the northern tip of Laem Had Beach.
The on-site dining was delicious, and there are several small cafes and restaurants within walking distance, giving us plenty of options to explore the local cuisine.
And of course, we must mention the hotel’s white cat, Jonny, who was always around to greet us and was clearly adored by both guests and staff alike.
Sons Bay became one of our favorite spots. If you go there, you should definitely stop at Baan suan na khok yor - the best smoothie bar on the island with a great view of nature. The owner is a very friendly old man who grows all the fruit in his menu himself.
When we’re back in Thailand, we’ll definitely be booking another stay at this amazing place!

Fantastic resort in a wonderful location right on the beach, within easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was spacious and clean, with access to a shared plunge pool and a huge private terrace with sea views. This is our second time staying at Yao Yai Beach Resort, and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again in the future. The main pool is also lovely, and there are plenty of comfy sunbeds available right on the beach. Breakfast choice is a bit limited, but what's offered is pretty good.
Baan Taranya Koh Yao Yai Resort Plus is located in the tropical rain forest of the Koh Yao Yai Island in Phang Nga Bay. A private beach is only 400 metres away from the property.

The resort Is wonderful and perfect for nature lovers who still want to enjoy the beach and pool. From the comfort of your terrace you can see monkeys, squirrels, lizards and friendly cats. It's a small paradise. The staff is very kind and can organise transfers and tours. Breakfast and check-out times are quite generous. Guests can use SUP boards and kayaks. The infinity pool is gorgeous. The bungalows come with a lovely terrace with patio furniture, mosquito net and fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable. We felt truly at home here.
Great location, great food, great room and nice staff. Nice and kids friendly beach. If we come back to Koh Yao we will definitely stay at Yao Yai Beach Resort again.
Accommodation was really nice, very spacious and clean with direct access to a gigant pool. There are renovations going on right now but we never felt or heard any annoying construction work. The breakfast buffett is very diverse. The staff is just excellent! They were outstanding friendly, forthcoming and helpful - they made our stay special. Be aware: if you are looking for a luxury option, you better go to the resort on the other end of that beach. But if you want something for small/medium budget, this is a good place to stay.
Everything was perfect! It’s our third time staying at this resort and it will not be our last. The staff here is so welcoming and will do everything to make your stay as perfect as possible. The food is great, the location is wonderful and the rooms are really nice. You even get a private pool for yourself, but we mainly used the beach. It’s absolutely wonderful here at Yao Yai Beach Resort!
We had a great stay at sunrise beach resort, the room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The hotel is so well taken care off, the gardens and views are beautiful. The family are so kind, friendly and accommodating which you will find runs through the whole island, everyone is so lovely. We have been to Koh Yao Yai 4 times and this was our favourite place, highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back again.
