The park where the bungalows are located is a dream.
In the mornings, the hard-working helpers come and look after it like a pearl.
Finally a pool that is big enough for swimming and not just for splashing around.

DooNa Resort is a peaceful oasis among rice fields. We had the family room which was spacious (two adults, kids 3 & 5), clean and nicely decorated. The room was just by the pool which the kids loved (although not heated so water somewhat cold). The staff was very nice and the dinner was excellent with greate Thai tastes (we had fish with different spices). The breakfast was ok with eggs and white toast (alternatively Thai breakfast with rice), could have had some more selection, but the coffee was very good.

I would have liked more options for the Thai breakfast, as I dislike the "American" breakfast.
I also was a bit miffed that we had to pay for a child's breakfast.

Lovely room with nice outside space. Nice walk to the swimming pool and dining area and the restaurant building was really elegant with a beautifully lit view and the reception area was very attractive too. Breakfast was good and the two dinners we had were high quality. I hope the resort will be able to encourage more people - I know the flooding in the area in October meant they had to cancel bookings. The staff were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful.

We moved out of central Chiang Mai to get some peace - and we got it. It was a perfect base for exploring northern Chiang Mai - a lot to see and experience with kids. It is a small place and only us and another room was filled - but even so, a big (considering only 6 guests) breakfast buffet was made for us every morning. Our kids got to ride almost every morning (when we found out the option). You are able to use their kitchen to cook, if you should like so.
