We checked into the Wyndham hotel and were initially very excited to stay at a Wyndham property. I must say, their services, cleanliness, property amenities, beach and pool facilities, and breakfast were all excellent – beautiful and enjoyable. However, our experience was dampened by the room we were assigned. While the room was clean, we soon realized that the toilet flush wasn’t working properly, and the tank took 15–20 minutes to refill. This caused significant inconvenience, especially at midnight.
We were offered a room change, which was described as an “upgrade” with a poolside view. Exhausted and eager to resolve the situation, we accepted the new room without much thought. However, the next morning, we woke up to loud noises from drills and machinery. Upon opening the window, we discovered that the pool was under construction or being repaired. The noise disrupted our morning and made it clear that this wasn’t an upgrade at all. If I had known about the construction beforehand, I would never have accepted that room, especially considering the price ($470/night, including taxes, services, parking, and paid breakfast).
Positive: I highly recommend their breakfast—it's delicious, top-notch, and worth it. If possible, pay extra for breakfast when booking your room.
Parking : $25 valet, $15 for self parking
Suggestion to Management: Management needs to understand that we work hard all year to enjoy vacations like this with our families, and this incident was disappointing. Although the hotel manager apologized and offered a 10% credit, looking back, I can’t help but question whether it was really worth spending so much for such an experience.
Margaritaville Vacation Club - Rio Mar offers a private beach area in Rio Mar, a restaurant and guests can have fun at the casino and games room.

Garden and the pool area are gorgeous. Room was nice. Staff was friendly, if you don´t take into account the extra charges they were trying to make us pay.

The view is spectacular .. my parents are locals from the island so I’m very familiar with our precious island and the location of this resort is what makes it such an iconic place
The staff were amazing. The resort is a one stop resort where you can do so many things without leaving. Food was great, the private beach, water park, game room for kids right next to a lounge area for adults at night was a great idea. Me and my family enjoyed our stay and would go back again
The resort is massive and has a great number of amenities that one can take full advantage of. The private island, Palomino, was great to just sit back a relax. The golf course, superb!
The multiple restaurants as well as snack areas have plenty of options for almost everyone.
The RESORT was beautiful, beautiful location, beautiful scenery, just a beautiful resort. It’s sooo big and has everything you need on this resort. We stayed by the marina and it was easy access to the ferry to Palomino and Conqui water park. It was a little far to get to the main lobby, main pool and etc. Overall everything was great!
Beautiful resort and location. We ate at 3 different sites at resort. Breakfast took almost an 1.5 hours to get food. And wasn't even good. The waiter acted like it wasn't a problem. Only 6 other tables were full. So it was not good. The main restaurant neither my wife and I ate our meal. I got a pork chop that was as tough as wood. The gondola that took you from bottom resort to top broke down twice. And we were stuck for a half hour. Beach on island was awesome. Terrible food
Lots of options for everyone. Pools, beaches, restaurants. Staff were all kind and responsive.
Gorgeous property and views.
Lifeguards who care. I can’t remember the last time I remember seeing life guards at a resort. El Con had up to 5 on duty at times at the water park.
Location is on top of my list, the boat to the private Island, the swimming pools are great, all the views around the resort, the food in all restaurants, the game rooms, the valet parking, the room with a big closet in the bathroom, nice ce balcony
