We stayed in the hotel only for two nights to get our next flight, the hotel is near the airport. We also used the private beach resort of the hotel to which they have a shuttle service. (Is no sand beach however). We could also deposit some luggage in the hotel without any problem. Food/Drinks at the beach resort is basic, but you can let bring from hotel.
Lovely hotel for a stopover, this old girl is built in a lovely classic Asian beach resort style. 30 years on, the rooms are in want of a refresh. They’re still perfectly comfortable and functional and well maintained. This was our second stay here and we’d absolutely come back again.
Very high level of service, we really enjoyed. It’s well managed. Lot of staff, all very professional. Quiet and peaceful with a lot of nice features to explore. It’s a great option for a family resort holiday.
The beach resort was very clean. Salute to the housekeeping staffs as they are so hardworking and approachable. I like the design of the resort. Cultural but some rooms are a bit rusty. Our AC was leaking on the first night then on the third day it would not even get cold in the room. We let them know about the problem since day 1 but we are not fuzzy so we still stay in the same room but no one really followed up so anyways.
I've stayed at all luxury resorts in Cebu/Mactan and the Reef is by far the best when it comes to the breakfast. Great variation from day to day. One day I asked if the enchiladas contained pork, which they did and which I don't eat, so the helpful staff asked the chef to make a vegetarian enchilada for me. Overall 5/5.
First time I had an early check-in in Cebu in 10 years (we arrived at 11 and the room was ready). All other places you have to wait even if the room is ready.
The beach resort itself is terrific. Both pools and beaches are available during our stay. Our booking comes with a free kayak and other use of amenities as well.
They also offer shuttle services but with additional charges.
And foods served in their restobar are in big servings (good for sharing) and are presentable.
Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.
