Certainly the best resort to book in Negombo Beach. Close to the airport with an excellent location, walking distance from all you need. Large well designed rooms and a staff that will provide you with the best care.
It was my first resort upon arrival in Sri Lanka. There wasn't a hotel or resort topping this one during my three weeks that followed while traveling around. I can't wait to come back next year again.

Beautiful room with great outdoor space. Lovely pool and sun beds. Great air con and shower room. Filling breakfast. Fried eggs flipped no jelly. A welcome change from some of the eggs we have had. A big shout out for Jeevan. Lovely guy who only wants to please. Adorable puppy on site but come soon as they grow up really quickly.

We loved the design of the resort and all of the thoughtful additional activities. We were particularly impressed by the homegrown fruit and veggies.
Our visit was early in the resort’s opening and therefore facilities such as the spa have not yet opened. We look forward to returning when everything is up and running in the future.

This is a beautifully laid out and decorated hotel in Negombo, with easy walking access to the beach and shops. We had a lovely time there, meeting people and acclimatising to a new way of life. We were very tired after a long flight, and they were happy to let us check in early and sleep. A wonderful stop...it would have been nice to stay longer to see more of the area. Thank you!

Our stay was marked by exceptional service from start to finish. The staff were incredibly attentive, always greeting us with a friendly smile and going out of their way to accommodate every request. You truly feel pampered and well taken care of here.
The facilities are impressive on paper. The room we stayed in was spacious, spotless, and boasted a stunning view of the lagoon. The gym was well-equipped, the spa provided a relaxing escape, and the pool area was well-maintained with plenty of loungers, including some with views toward the beach. Breakfast was lavish, offering an extensive selection of dishes – almost overwhelming at times – and the evening dining experience was also enjoyable.
However, despite these positives, the price-to-quality ratio fell short in our opinion. Both the room rates and the dining prices are on the high side, and while the amenities are plentiful, they lack a certain charm and atmosphere that would make the experience truly special. The setting is beautiful, but it feels like it’s missing a cohesive ambiance to tie everything together.
In summary, if you’re seeking exceptional service and a well-maintained environment, this property delivers. But if you’re expecting a vibrant atmosphere or a stronger connection between price and overall experience, it may leave you wanting.

The hotel itself was beautiful and quite spacious, felt luxurious. Loved the huge pool area and the beach beyond the pool. All gardens were well maintained. They've had activities each day for all age groups from morning till night, which I thought it was great to keep everyone occupied and engaged. Haven't seen that in other hotels yet.
Enjoyed the various cuisines served in buffet with an exceptional Oxtail soup.
The staff was fantastic polite friendly and courteous. I experienced a booking issue, which was handled by Lakmal very professionally and he ensured that everyone is happy and having a great time. Super friendly, warm welcoming staff, always smiling & ready to help. Liked the tradtional four poster wooden beds incl mosquito nets and boutique style of the small resort. Massage also great and nice choice of breakfast
Beach-side resort. We were here to relax at the end of our holiday and chose the property due to it's relative proximity to the airport. Our room was clean and comfortable with enough space for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 older teenagers) and a fridge to keep drinks chilled. Our room was near one of the pools, which closed by sunset so the room was quiet at night.
The buffet dinner and Buffet breakfast were good with lots of choices; all fresh and plentiful.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Nature friendly resort with lots of greenery. The host is great and fulfilled our needs. The food was delicious and you should try their Sri Lankan breakfast. It was fantastic. We stayed for one night and it was a really nice stay.

We booked the one-bedroom suite with a pool, and it was absolutely fantastic. The resort itself is exceptionally nice, with very friendly staff. The food was outstanding. The kids' pool and play area felt like an exclusive waterpark, which had my kids going wild. All in all its become my favourite place to relax in the Negombo area.

Staying at Steps Garden Resort was like stepping into a tropical oasis! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. And let me tell you about the restaurant – the food was out of this world! Every meal was a delicious adventure, with flavors that left us craving more. If you're looking for a slice of paradise with incredible staff and mouthwatering cuisine, look no further than Steps Garden Resort.
This place is great if you have kids, as Steps Garden Resort keep both rabbits, ducks, fish etc. and also has a pool.
The staff is very friendly and went above and beyond to meet our needs and wishes.
The place almost seems like a small botanical garden where you can see all kinds of fruit trees and plants.
All in all a good experience and a perfect way to spend the last night close to the airport - and with easy transfer included.
The time I spent in Steps Garden Resort is remarkably Wonderful. Staff very helpful, well trained and their hospitality is beyond. The room was hygiene and had a nice view. If I have more time before I end my trip I’d love to spend another time at this resort
