The Waterside is set In beautiful, peaceful gardens on the Bentota riverside. If you are lucky you may see the local wildlife passing through the garden. During our stay we saw Water monitor, Mongoose, Porcupine, Sea Eagles, Kingfisher, Fruit bats. Every evening between 6-6.30pm the Fruit bats leave to feed, it is a spectacular sight seeing hundreds of Fruit bats flying together.
Our room was on the 1st floor with a large balcony with views over the garden, lovely swimming pool & river. The room was large & comfortable & tastefully decorated, the bathroom had bath & shower.
All staff at the Waterside provided exceptional service which made our stay very special.
All meals at the Waterside were delicious, Saman is an exceptional Chef.
We will definitely stay at the Waterside during our next visit, we would not consider staying anywhere else, thank you for making our holiday so special.

This is one of my all time favourite hotels and I’ve stayed here a few times. This time I enjoyed a 5 night stay. It’s a beautiful laid back Geoffrey Bawa designed property and I love the decor and ambience. The gardens are beautiful and the immaculately cared for 25m pool is perfect for both lap swimming and lounging - kudos to the pool man who is always there and clearly loves his pool. The long beach is a short walk across the train tracks (the train never disturbed me and I barely noticed it after the first day or so). Housekeeping is excellent and I always enjoyed the delicious breakfasts. I look forward to returning!

I had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Bentota Resort. We enjoyed all the resort's facilities, which were exceptional. The service provided by the resort staff was impressive, and the meals were delightful. The resort's location was also fantastic, adding to the overall experience.

I stayed at Temple Tree Resort in Bentota. The hotel's location is good with direct beach access. However, the rooms were just okay and could have been cleaner. Overall, it was an average experience
We loved our stay at the Pandanus resort. We stayed for 3 nights, booked a superior room but were upgraded to a deluxe room which had a huge balcony and the best view of the beach. The staff were really cordial and helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone. A really good place to relax and have a quiet time.
A very cute property in Bentota. The resort is really amazing, worth staying. The beach is just a small walk away, crossing the rail path- which gives another wonderful experience.

Everything - if you want a 5 star all inclusive this is your place. The property is large enough that you don’t realise how many people are there - until you queue for ice cream of course!
We only stayed for 2 nights to end our tour and it was nice to end in clean luxury. We didn’t visit the beach but it looked nice. Swimming pools were big and enough space to enjoy family time. Adults only pool was also nice with the swim up bar.
Good food spread, particularly the fresh fish/meat on offer at every meal.
Great stay at this villa.. host is lovely and is very faciliting.. helped me with scooter rental, tuk tuk to train station, washing and cooked really nice breakfast in the mornings at the peaceful river side

this is an all inclusive resort meaning there's breakfast,lunch and supper plus free drinks all day long. the buffets has an unimaginable amount of food, everything and anything that you can think of is available.
The free drinks are of a low quality and some so bad that you wont want them even though its free. there should be an option to purchase good quality drinks at a fee is desired.
