In the winter this place is probably perfect, right near a ski resort.

The hotel is situated near the peak. There is quite a distance to cover to get to the ski resort but the hotel arranges for transport as long as you have informed them in prior. The ski rent store is also very nearby to the hotel and they also have the facility to store the ski gear. The staff was friendly and they were always ready to help. The rooms are as advertised. I loved the bathtub because it had the massage option and the rooms are well insulated for winters.

Bob was an amazing host. He offered to dropped us off at the Ski resort in the morning which was very helpful. His wife baked us a delicious homemade apple cake. He also offered us electric bicycles to ride around the area.

Leslie was an excellent, accommodating host. I am very thankful we chose Bear's Den for our stay in Hakuba. It has set a high bar for future ski resorts I stay at

Everything. From Gaspards hospitality to his organisation, everything is easy, smooth and streamlined. Multiple shuttles to either the main bus terminal (where all the busses to the resorts go from), or if there's a bunch of people going to a close resort, you get dropped to the door. Awesome.

First of all, the owner is very kind and gentle. He can speak English quite well, and willing to help you for ski resort or good restaurant information. The room is quite small but still, comfortable and sparkling clean. Bed is good enough to have good sleep plus private bath that you can use at the first floor.

The owners Kayo and Taka are very friendly and helpful, they can speak English well so we have a very good conversation while stay. The inn is located inside the forest and take 5mins walk to Goryu ski resort, convenient for skiing and make u have a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Breakfast and dinner are delicious too, must try!
