Lots of great daily activities. Free floating breakfast, photographer (1 free photo). Spa in the jungle. Yoga on the rooftop with a jungle view. Large swimming pool (not infinity) with a stunning view of the jungle. Spacious villas, outdoor shower, good private pool (perfect for a plunge after a long day). Good breakfast boxes (sandwiches, coffee, fruit canapes). Didn't get to try the actual breakfast. Unusual layout of the property, beautiful. Best staff ever: super-welcoming, very friendly and super supportive. We had to leave early, and they met us halfway in regards to the cancellation policies.

Everything! The wonderful staff was so helpful with any questions or assisting us with making any arrangements for tours, transportation, etc. We were especially grateful to Wid, who was at the desk every morning to handle all our requests with great efficiency, a big smile and excellent communication skills. The food at the restaurant was SO good, the rooms were spacious and beds super comfortable. The location is in town yet a quiet jungle hideaway.

The staff were incredible - the restaurant staff, the front desk staff and the drivers who drove us round the Ubud area were also so friendly, so kind and so engaging and thoughtful. The breakfasts were bar none the best in the world - a buffet of fruit and veggies and cheese and pastries and then you order the "entree" from the menu that they bring to your table - i had the eggs benedict almost every morning since i could not get over how wonderful it was. The communal pool is a bit of a walk down the mountain which is wonderful if you are young and in good shape - I was with my elderly mother so we stayed in the room that has a backdoor that opens onto a semi private book (i think they are called classic rooms)... these rooms are up by the top of the hotel (the hotel is one of the oldest in Ubud and beckons to old Bali and is truly wonderful and magical) as the hotel sits on a side of a gorge and goes from the top to about half way down the hillside. So if you are not wanting to walk up and down stairs make sure you reserve rooms on the top and I highly recommend the classic suite.

Nice & quiet location with the most amazing grounds - beautiful gardens & paths. Staff were fantastic, always smiling and willing to help with requests. Room was beautiful & clean with icy a/c. Swimming pool was awesome & cleaned daily. There are only about a dozen or so villa’s so it was never crowded, almost felt like we were in our own private retreat. It was also family friendly with family villas available as well. The restaurant was absolutely amazing & we never had a bad meal there - all the food was soooo delicious. 11/10 for their chef & restaurant staff. Their spa/massage services were also amazing - we had a 60min Balinese massage……wish I had made it 90min 😉 I could go on but I would highly recommend the Rumah Kayu Resort to anyone who wants a quiet & truly unique holiday experience, especially couples looking for a romantic getaway 😃
