Very nice view from our bed. Good bed, incl a heater if needed. Good location in front of the therms (the luxury as well as the more local one) and restaurants. Nice rooftop to sit outside.
Taxi (yellow) to quito airport is 20 dollar, approximately 50minutes. The taxi place is 50 meter from the hotel.
Bus from quito south is easy and anice drive, about 2 hours: 3,50dollar pp and 2 dollar for the taxi to the hotel.
We visited Papallacta primarily to visit the baths fed by the hot springs inside the ‘Termos de Papallacta’ resort. There is a hotel inside the resort, but it’s very expensive. Mamallacta is a wonderful alternative as it is located just a few minutes walk from the entrance to the resort and is a great deal more affordable.
Additionally we found Mamallacta Lodge to be comfortable and clean. The food was good, and the quality of service offered by the staff was exceptional.
Everything… lovely accommodation, comfy bed, restaurant food was great, first class buffet breakfast. Hot springs were excellent, clean, with staff checking the temperature regularly. The spa part was also great… massage very good. The staff throughout the resort were delightful, friendly, helpful and kind.
Met Franklin immediately and he made us feel comfortable. Spa pools were incredible. Steak dinner was fantastic. We really liked the loop hike above the resort before relaxing in the spa. Front desk folks at the spa were very nice too.
This place is a fabulous oasis, located just an hour from Quito. The hot springs are wonderful - more than on par with any hot springs resort I've been to in the US. The spa services are also excellent. We loved it so much there that we extended our stay.
The thermal baths in Papallacta are a 5-minute-walk away from the Hostal, so its poosition is truly ideal. It's very rural and simple, but that's what I liked about it. No big luxury, just the simple bare necessities (and loooots and lots of blankets that make the night comfy and warm <3) and the usual continental breakfast that fills your stomach just right. The scenery is beautiful and it is quiet. Nothing more to wish for, to be honest, for that absolutely fair price.
Convenient location to go to Papallacta hotsprings, good price, heater in room generous basic breakfast, they offer a discount to Papallacta resort entry.
