The owner (Miguel) and his staff was the best part, he was so helpful and genuinely wanted your experience to be the best. From example, he picked us up and dropped us at the beach, he recommended a day out horse riding with Pepe which was so good, home cooked lunch and waterfall swimming was so memorable. The hotel is clearly a passion, and is not for those looking for luxury (no AC), but that's the point, more in touch with nature

Lovely little resort in the stunning Drake Bay. The rooms have nets on the windows so when you sleep you can hear both the sea and the jungle - magical! The hosts are absolutely lovely and go over and above to make sure you feel at home. The hotel is actually attached to a restaurant where we had dinner - had an amazing pasta with fresh local seafood. Honestly a really lovely experience.

First I was sceptical, but this is a no brainer. The owners are nice, and its bascially a small house on their property, in the middle of Drake Bay. The room is quite big, has a powerful fan, a kitchenette, plently of power outlets, a big fridge and a small terrace. The bathroom has a shower and everything you need. From the terrace you can see a resort restaurant below, and if you're friendly enough they even give you a coffee at 5am. :) For that price, Casita Tangara is a bargain.

Great hosts were so nice and so helpful : drove us to and from tours & helped with booking trips; we had air conditioner in the bedroom (so good!); our own little balcony; basic kitchen facilities, plenty of space , free wifi. Not luxury but great basic accommodation - all you need.

overall the kitchen and common area creates friendly feeling and encourages chatting. staff do keep facilities clean, but some of them are just old or 'Costa Rica style'. Drake Bay is def not a luxury town overall though

Beautiful! Super friendly, accomodating staf. We eat vegan, the kitchen staff cooked very nice food for us. We stayed in resorts and hotels and mostly their idea of eating vegan is just skipping animal products. Here they cooked especially for us. It showed they cared and take hospitality serious. Thank you everyone at caletas lodge! ❤️🙏❤️

Lovely family run place - very friendly, exceptionally Clean and EXCELLENT food. Beautiful surroundings! You have a private beach and David is helpful with organising tours for you. It is a simple place though so if you’re looking for luxury and hotel touches this won’t be the place for you but if you want an authentic, friendly, comfortable, memorable experience then this will meet all your needs :)

The staff were so helpful and friendly, my gilrfriend was a little ill while we were there and they did everything to help and make us feel at home. The location and grounds of the resort are amazing and the free kayak rental is great.
