We had Groupon tickets for Kentucky Down Under for my family. I researched the area and I am so glad i decided to book 3 rooms at Cave City Ky. We were close to everything to do in that area. We will have to go back soon as we didn't have time in 3 days to do everything we wanted to. It is a great area for families and camping too. This is the area my husband and I took our own girls to when they were little, now I take my grandchildren and their children.
Corbin is a normal small Kentucky town. Ate at a little Chinese buffet and was very disappointed in the quality of the food.

I enjoyed the downtown setting. Walking distance from the hotel was great for shops and historical sites in the area. University of Kentucky campus and Wildcat basketball makes it a great city to visit.
Mondays in March are not the best time to be in Lexington, many attractions and stores are closed. Check before you go anywhere on a Monday. The Kentucky Horse Park is amazing and a must for any horse lover.
It's a very small town with a surprising amount of amenities. 24hr gas stations, a variety of restaurants which were not bad and like most of Kentucky easy to get in and out with close freeway access.
I grew up in Eddyville and have a great fondness for the town. A good seafood restaurant. There is a mexican restaurant which is not bad. Just down the road a few miles there is superior BBQ at Knoth's. For the kids, there is a water park. For the adults there are Barkley and Kentucky lakes nearby. Good boating. Good fishing. There are local campsites. Movie theaters in Princeton (12 miles away) and Paducah (about 30 miles away). Eddyville has an excellent library. Princeton also has a good library. Churches are plentiful. Shopping available in Paducah and also local mall.
Oak Grove is a small town on the Tennessee/Kentucky border. It's a typical base town with your strip clubs and tattoo places. Clarksville, TN, just a few miles away from Oak Grove, was much nicer and had more restaurants and shopping to offer.
Unfortunately my stay was far to short arrived in the dark and left in the dark however I spent several days there in 2015 and was over the moon Lexington and Kentucky as a whole. We visited a local stables which was very exciting plus the Woodford reserve distillery would thoroughly recommend
We we're coming down to Lexington for our annual girls weekend out to the Rolex at the Kentucky Horse Park and to visit the "Home of Chrome". As usual, the visit was wonderful, the weather this year was perfect and our tour of Taylor Made to see our beloved California Chrome was certainly the highlight this year!. Signing up for the California Chrome Experience was the best thing we have done in a LONG time! We got to see the Big Guy himself and he was gorgeous!!! We also got to see his first baby and that of several other stallions I knew by name!. The little surprise of Kentucky Chrome was just pure cute! You will have to go in order to understand that one!! I wanted to pick him up and take him home. We WILL be back next for another adventure and to see other farms and experience some favorites like Old Friends....also a highlight if you are in the area! Everything there is for a GREAT cause!! Kudos to the horse industry in Lexington - the people involved are simply fabulous, kind, and warm. You must also see Keeneland, stand up by the rail and experience the thrill! Wow, how close you can get to these magnificent animals!!!....Thanks!!
I liked the price. I booked my stay for the Kentucky Derby. I had checked other hotels and they were way more expensive, like one night vs what I paid for my whole stay. It had good reviews so I went for it. I had never previously stayed at an Extended Stay so didn't realize the laundry service was extra. I did look back at my booking and did see it had said that. You get 2 bath towels, 2 wash clothes and 1 bathmat. To exchange them, it costs you $2.06.
Room was a bit small, but to be expected for a beautiful but older hotel design. The tradeoff was the bathroom, which was BEAUTIFUL and spacious. The restaurants and bar areas were exceptional in both quality and atmosphere. Lots of Kentucky Derby lore and The Brown Hotel obviously takes care to keep up the reputation for being a special kind of hotel. Very nice. The upper deck (rooftop) is amazing.
Very clean and felt very safe, gave a Home away from Home feel, it was decorated very nice a lot of emphasis on Kentucky (decor)which was very nice. The Apartment was 5 star in every aspect. Easy to find right in town and the Host had everything you could want to cook with in or outside. Including a small s'mores kit! Thank You Hill Top Hideaway For making our stay such a welcoming feel!
This hotel was extremely clean and comfortable! This was our last stop on a long road trip that involved stays in several hotels across the country. This hotel was a great last stop! The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. It is located near the University of Kentucky. When we left in the morning, we enjoyed a drive around the nice campus and beautiful city of Lexington!
I use Super 8 a lot on my bookings for Golf trips throughout Kentucky. This particular Hotel was infested with Ants ! Six out of the eight rooms I had booked was infested. We did not see this in the check in. It was the last morning and everyone came to me about it. I went to get the managers attention, he was nowhere to be found. So I would give this place a low quality score !
We stayed here to go to Kentucky International Convention Center. Very convenient location, close to high way exit, not too far from the convention center. . Many restaurant options around the hotel even we came back around 8pm. Also hotel stuff are very nice and friendly. We felt very welcomed. The room we stayed was very spacious. We will definitely stay this hotel again.
The Elwood combines a little boho, a touch of elegant and a whole lot of Southern charm into a wonderfully eclectic hotel! The rooms are spacious, the gym was a nice surprise, outdoor seating ranges from white tablecloth elegance to “sit back and relax” rocking chairs, and the location is close to shopping, University of Kentucky, and restaurants.
The food and atmosphere were great. The half in half put pool was a cool concept. Our room was great and the facility was in a good location. And the fact that it wasn't far from Kentucky Kingdom was amazing. It was our first time in a Drury hotel and in Kentucky. This place made a great impression on my family.
Super super clean and very respectful staff. Cleaning staff were very courteous with the room. Location is great for our visit to Kentucky horse park! Breakfast was nice, but very sugary. I believe this is a norm for American hotel breakfasts. I guess we’re used to full English breakfasts in the morning 🍳

The staff was very friendly at both check in and check out. The hotel is in a great location for Kentucky Kingdom. I really liked the 24/7 coffee bar! Very clean and nice set up! Good size rooms! We booked 6 rooms (19) people and enjoyed our stay... except the beds.

I liked the location of where this hotel was in relation to where my family wanted to visit during our stay in Kentucky. The room spacing was nice in my room as well. There seemed to also be plenty of parking available.

Need a much larger Hotel! So many were turned away for lack of rooms! Need triple or more rooms! The Ark in Kentucky has a tremendous amount of visitors! The patrons that did get in received excellent service!

This was a well located, modern hotel in the centre of Kentucky. The room felt modern and was laid out very well. There was plenty of space and the bed was comfortable.
