This was one of the most enjoyable hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time. The service was great. The rooms were extremely well thought out and comfortable. The price was reasonable. The breakfast was outstanding and getting into the park (not rides) after 1800 was a bonus!

Housed in a historic 19th-century building, this hotel is directly opposite Gothenburg Central Station on Drottningtorget Square. A courtyard or city view can be enjoyed from the rooms. I adored this old hotel renovated in retro style, with flowery wallpapers, dark interiors, old pieces of furniture, and a cozy bed you sink in feeling you will sleep for 2 days. If you come by train/bus, the location is excellent, and it is not a problematic quarter. I loved the breakfast as well - plenty of choices and everything tasted delicious. The atmosphere in the dark and cozy breakfast room was also great, with dimmed lights from retro lamps and classical music and soundtracks being played. Would definitely stay there again.

The restaurant is very good, and the breakfast buffet is spectacular. We happened to be there when the fiercest storm in a quarter century (Hans) hit the west coast of Sweden, so we were forced to stay inside. Isbolaget was so cozy and comfortable that we were happy to do so, even though we didn’t get to explore the island and its neighbor, Styrsö. The staff is warm and helpful as well.

Facing the beachfront, Strandflickornas Husen invid Havet offers 3-star accommodation in Lysekil and has a garden, restaurant and bar. We stayed in one of the small houses/studio by the sea with own jacuzzi. It was magnificent!! We loved our own sauna space that during summer is turned into a relaxing room with an outstanding sea view! Everything was amazing but that which touched us the most was the professionalism of the staff and of the people in charge. Specific needs/situations were met and resolved with the highest professionalism as I had yet not met before ( and I do travel a lot both in Sweden and abroad). Thank you so much to all staff and to this amazing place that made my daughter’s 21th birthday an unforgettable one ♥️ And as a touch of pure grace, we had the amazing experience to see and touch the bioluminescence of “ Mareld” that were present by the shore so close to our studio! Better we could not ask for! Will definitely come back…and not only once!
