The town is beautiful, more like a mountain resort than a traditional town. It has a lot of interesting places where you can eat good food, but also many touristic attractions, as does the entire Suceava county, People are very welcoming and nice, the sights are often impressive.
Yes, one has to get over the crumbled industrial zone between the Railway station and the old town. Once there SUCEAVA is an historic former capital of Bucovina with fine old churches of many denominations and a nearby vast ,and recently restored fortress. Not to be overlooked. It is the base for visiting the painted monasteries, but you may well find it sensible if you are two or three to use a local guide company. I recommend AXA travel. See web site.
Suceava people are the nicest you'll ever find but also the loudest typically, not all of them obviously.
We had a nice relaxing time in Suceava and enjoyed nice places as Suceava Castle, good restaurants - a very good pizza at Oscar Wilde restaurant, and Mac Donald's had excellent charcoal grilled burgers!
seeing the painted monasteries was the main reason for our stay in suceava and we did see them, but as there were only 2 of us we did not have a guide and the driver did not speak English. There is also a very much recommended, outdoor village museum in Suceava, which we did not see because it was closed Mondays. we would have done better to see the Monasteries on Monday and the village museum Tuesday. We ate 2 meals in hotel, which was good and reasonably priced. 1 meal at Latino's, very good but more expensive.
Monasteries were great Fortress in Suceava was fantastic. Wander around and nice interactive exhibition. Planetarium in Suceava is a recommendation. Great presentation and beautiful exploration of the stars. Kids loved it!
Travelers have to be prepared for the city, where they are could see the heritage of communism and quite mess architecture. What is on traveling in Romania perfect is, that almost everybody (or most of people on the street wherever you are) speaking english on the level, you could understand. Citizens are very helpful and in this city recommending restaurant "central vechi", where was very friendly staff and gorgeous food and vine. Very close of Suceava are vine region and Bucovina mountains which is wonderful.
Our first experience of a small,country town in Romania and a great base for visiting the monasteries,either by walking/taxi to nearby Humor and Voronet or taking a day tour with Gigi at Axa Travel,who is based in Suceava and who is both attentive and very knowledgeable and certainly contributed to our greater understanding of this area.

Haven’t spent a lot of time in Suceava, but if you’re there, go and visit the main medieval fortress named “Cetatea de Scaun a Sucevei”, as you will learn a lot from there on moldavian’s history. Read a bit of Wikipedia first too. :)

Nice place, good convienient location, it was easy to find it. Underground parking and elevator provide you convenient entrance to apartments. Apartments were clean, spacious, and everything brand new inside. The beds were comfortable. Coffee machine is present. There are a lot of shops and cafes around. Ther is a small playground for kids not far from building. The host was very helpful. Definitely I will try to book this flat again when we come to Suceava. I highly recommend this accommodation. We enjoyed the time spent there.

- good location (close to to lidl store, penny supermarket and few local shops) - quiet and peaceful (the house is far from the road); -having your own parking space, which is often a problem in Suceava; - two bedrooms; - a balcony where you can rest or hang clothes to dry; - there was everything necessary for a comfortable stay for our family with children; - owner of the apartment is a very nice and pleasant lady. She tried to help and improve our stay all the time of our being there.
I am using this hotel for the 4th time already ) It is the best option in Suceava for a good and comfortable stay before a long trip. The room was very warm (we used the one with balcony). The beds are nice. And staff is simply amazing - we were on a very late check in several times and there always was someone waiting for us at reception. The restaurant downstairs is great - as we learned, their chief is cooking there for 20+ years!) and it is worth trying! Definitely recommended.

Very nice, clean apartment. Autonomous heating, there was even harco, eats air conditioning. The apartment has everything you need for life. The hostess is very responsive, responds quickly to all questions. There was a problem with the boiler, solved very quickly. The apartment is located in a quiet place, but not far from the center, 20 minutes on foot. Nearby there are large markets and cafes. I recommend it very much, when we are in Suceava, we will definitely come back here.
The Province Hotel in Suceava is a peaceful spot, right next to a forest. It's so quiet and away from city noise, making it the perfect place to relax. They also serve a tasty breakfast that's a great start to the day. Additionally, they have a spacious guest room where you can spend wonderful time admiring the beautiful interior design. I'm so excited to stay here; it's truly the best spot I've found for a peaceful getaway.

I was very happy with my stay at Casa Bucovineana. Clean, warm and comfortable rooms, very friendly and accommodating staff. Staff at the hotel was very happy to answer all my questions and call a taxi when I needed one. The hotel is also a short walk from Carrefour and other shops. If I go to Suceava in the future, I want to stay again in this hotel.
