Pisco is more authentic and cheaper than Paracas, where only tourists stay. Just take a taxi or hotel shuttle from the Soyuz/Perubus station on the Panamericano highway (USD 2.50). Visit the daily (fish) market. A good base for the Ballestas islands and Paracas reserve. Ask for cheap lunch menus or eat a la carte.
Nazca lines, adventure with buggy. Alegria is great,they have pool, free breakfast, a family place. I didn't like the fact they haven't built an airport located in Ica yet.
Ica are ok .. dirty .. desorden with much trafic try to avoid the city and go to the Nice winery or huacachina lake ... Do More out of the city are much better .. food are Nice and some Times people take advantage of the tourist .. remember always drink water from your own botle IF you like luxury tourist its hard to Find ut here just a coupleof place..
One and a half day is enough to enjoy the dunes activities, the Pisco route and then next day (full day) to enjoy Paracas. For the rest, not much to see in Ica itself. La Olla de Juanita is a great restaurant. Delicious Peruvian food. Favorite places: Huacachina, Paracas islas ballestas. Got to Ica via Cruz del Sur (Ica express) bus ride is okay but on the way back toilets were broken and the whole bus stank really badly.
I love Paracas as it is a great base for exploring this region of Peru. With Ica and the Nazca Lines not too far away. Or a short trip to Tambo Colorado. The Paracas National Park is a must too.
After Lima and Ica/Huacachina, Nazca was a really mellow, relaxing experience. We only stayed for 2 days which for us, was enough. We took a flight over the Nazca lines, great experience. The village center is a square where locale gather and relax with eachother
Ica is sadly, a very dirty city. It seems that nobody is coscious about trash recollection and cleanliness culture. Besides that, the vineyards and the dunes (dunes by the way where reached by trash disposal too) are incredible places.
The weather is perfect. I don't care for the city of Ica. If you could see past it and focus in the hotel which sits on the outskirts of the city in a gated property, you will have a wonderful life time experience.
Just amazing experience - Huacachina in Ica. Beautiful oasis in the middle of sand dunes. Sandboarding and buggy tour was one of the best experiences of our holidays in Peru. On Saturday night locals come to the oasis to party, great opportunity to meet local friendly people.
Only really need one day for Huacachina for the sand dunes. Everything is a little pricey in huacachina because you’re in the middle of the desert so you pay for convenience. Also be prepared to pay in cash in most places in Haucachina(if they did accept card it was usually visa only). Ica will be your last opportunity to withdraw cash
-Comfortable bed with a curtain, light + socket (although mine was complicated to use) + quite big lockers -Ensuite bathroom in the dorm with toilet & good+warm shower -Enough toilets elsewhere in the hostel too -WiFi worked well (in the dorm as well) -You can leave your luggage stored there after checkout while going on a tour/waiting for a bus -Nice bar & pool area -Restaurant with good vegetarian food for reasonable prices -I could pay with creditcard without extra charge -Very friendly and helpful staff -Check out at 12:00😃
if you plan on relaxing this is the place to be! many pools and activities to keep the kids busy (this place is very family oriented!!), they try to keep a divide between adults and kids. hotel is very clean. ac and heating is great! a lot of staff on the site which means you never have to look too hard to get some help! overall if you’re looking for a good time I would 100% recommend Las Dunas. if you want this as your base to visit Ica and surroundings: it’s a bit out of the way but the safe neighborhood really is an added bonus!
These are little concrete cabins set around a pool. The best is the spacious bathroom with a great shower. The room is large with a pool view. Nice chatty owners. Pool is quite big and relatively clean. There are lots of fruit trees in the garden. The breakfast is classic you get in Perú but more tasty, homemade style and the coffee was better than usually. The surroundig is a bit rough due to concrete surface around the pool. The hotel is middle way between the town of Ica and Huacachina about 20min walk both ways.
Everything at the property was amazing. Breathtaking views and landscape. Breakfast which was included was delicious, had plenty to choose from and coffee was delicious. The tour to the car collection was espectacular, seeing antique cars very well maintained was a very cool experience specially for the great explanation from the tour guide. This hotel is a must if you're going to visit Ica, even a one night stay is worth it 100%, The pool areas and the service around them were excellent.
A fantastic find on a quiet and attractive residential street, but with easy access to all the main areas of Ica. Super convenient for access to Huacachina. The owner was amazing, we have met wonderful people during our time in Peru, but this guy was the best. So friendly and helpful! The room was great with comfortable beds, hot shower, good wifi, and lots of lighting. Plus storage areas and ample outlets to charge devices. Highly recommend!
You can walk to center of Ica. Huacachina is 5-6 soles by tuk tuk. It takes 10 mins by Tuk Tuk. There is a mall near to hotel. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Internet was so good. It was good stay. I can choose again if they will improve breakfast. They can add a good quality coffee(medium roasted) and some jams, honey & butter. They need an English menu or English speaking waiter.
The staff was very friendly and helped us a lot getting around in Huacacina/Ica. You could book a buggy tour/wine tour with them. The hotel is a bit outside the oasis but we liked it, because given the low season it was more quiet at our hotel. We liked the pisco sour course they provided, and got to meet some nice people that way. The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was basic but good.

Wonderful and considerate hosts. Very nice rooftop terrace with water dispenser and private hostel bar. Very quite room with enough privacy, as most beds (super comfortable) face a wall. I had the best juice on my trip so far at the food stall on the corner, which the owner pointed me to. Very practical that you can hang up your clothes to dry on the rooftop. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room was clean and big, with en-suite and hot shower. Slept soundly. Breakfast was upstairs with a good view of the town. Nice "American" breakfast, eggs/ham scramble, coffee, fruit juice and bread. Hostel were very helpful with letting me leave my bag while i was on the Nazca lines flight, retrieving it just before the bus on to the next destination.
The hotel is in an amazing location - walkable distance to everywhere, yet keeping the surroundings somewhat quiet in comparison to other hotels. The staff was able to speak perfect English so the communication was very smooth. The pool and the restaurant were very clean. The breakfast was also very nice, with a variety of sweet and savoury options.
I liked the personal, they were kind and attentive Helping every time we need them aalso attentive to the whastsapp messages. The place is really close to the mall that’s a plus because you can find everything the location is safe and close to a main road panamericana sur. The breakfast is contundent as Peruvians like it. The WiFi is also good.
Fast check-in Clean Room Late check-out (compared to other hostels/hotel) I was also able to check-in a bit earlier. Quiet! (Ica center is very noisy , too many tuk-tuks , taxis, minibuses, etc a bit chaotic to be honest) but at this hostel I managed to sleep very well since it was quite, much appreciated!! Friendly staff

The location was perfect! It was quiet and just steps away from the main touristy areas, restaurants, and night life. AC worked great. The hotel restaurant had a good menu selection and the staff was friendly. Easy day trips included:3 hours to Nasca, 40 minutes to Ica vineyards and 1.5 hours to Paracas.
It is central to walk to the sand dunes and main street. -Friendly staff and a beautiful view from the terasse, where we had a nice breakfast. A pick up from the bus station in Ica is included. If you want you can use the pool of the hotel nearby for 20 Soles on top per day
We arrived early Morning in Ica and the Hotel, although checkin was later we were able get our room earlier. The Hotel staff was very kind and helpful. In General the Hotel is in a very good shape (clean Pool, roof terrace, Restaurant,…). The Price was also unbeatable.
In desert region with such comfortable hotel. With swimming pool Room and cleanliness are adequate to suit typical guest needs Breakfast moment was enough to let guest enjoy nice sand dune view. Of course, no luxury. just basic bread, eggs and coffee.
Lovely shared zone. Excellent buffet breakfast for S/20. Handy supermarket just right around the corner - on the ground floor. Comfortable beds. Hostel staff friendly. Recommend their Ica wine and Pisco tour as well as sand buggy tour.

Good location, great outdoor pool with a bar. Friendly and helpful staff. AC in the room. We were let earlier into our room during check-in and were able to leave our bags after check-out. Breakfast was ok, a typical one you get in Peru
This hostel is a 15 min walk away from Huacachina in a quiet neighborhood in Ica. It has really clean rooms with super comfy beds. A nice common space around the pool. Clean kitchen with a fresh sponge (a rare sight in hostels).
I chose this property because I thought it would be great to stay overnight at the oasis itself, but I would highly suggest just staying the night in Ica. This is mostly due to the facilities/food available there.
