Victoria Express Hotel is 5 minutes’ drive from the center of Durango and features an indoor pool, a fitness room and a tennis court. The air-conditioned rooms come with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen... A beautiful hotel for a stay in delightful Durango. Our room was so comfortable and spacious. We had a window that opened (something important for me) that looked out to a beautiful garden with flowers and green grass. The bathroom had lots of counter space and a shower with plenty of hot water. Fluffy towels changed everyday. Spotlessly clean hotel. Staff were amazing and efficient. The outdoor pool is heated and was wonderfully relaxing. Plenty of parking. Note that the entrance is on Blvd. Francisco Villa, not where google maps shows it to be.

We enjoyed staying here due to the proximity of the city center, We were able to walk to the plaza daily and take a taxi or uber from there. I also liked that the hotel was spacious, and the bed was comfortable.

This is my FAVORITE Hotel in all of North America. This was like our 7th or 8th visit so I asked others, I met at the pool why they loved this hotel so much. Surprised to find out that most of them say its the service that stands out from other Hotels, then the beautiful "Oasis" on the grounds, pool, and forest that you feel that you're in. Oh, and this time especially heard the crickets at night, which gave you an even more feeling about being in the mountains or countryside.

Property was very well maintained and extremely close to all shopping, parks and museums. Felt safe and staff was super friendly and communicated with any requests. The restaurant on property offered an assortment of delicious foods. Room was clean and offered reliable WiFi.

The Durango museums are not especially well-curated though they are informative, the docents are very enthusiastic, and the entrance fees are very reasonable. The murals throughout the city's public buildings are spectacular. We visited the Pancho Villa museum, the archaeology museum, the popular culture museum, the regional museum of natural history, & the city museum, and we were happy with them all. Rode the Teleferico, entered the cathedral & a few churches, & visited the old city market. It was all grand, but the highlight of our 5-day visit was the half-day trip we took a few miles south of town to the La Ferreria archaeological site and the ruins of the old steel foundry. Restaurant highlights included La Fonda de mi Tia Chona for traditional Durango cuisine, and Restaurant YouKay for its Asian food especially its Mongolian grill. Buy a jar of canned local peaches or pears, or buy a wheel of traditional Durango cheese at the old city market - it's like a lightly-aged Gouda and it is delectable. Many coffee houses throughout the historic district. The early-February weather seemed chilly for the locals, but it was perfect for us: cool nights, brilliant blue skies and sunny days in the low-to-mid 70s (F), and very low humidity. Go now!
We didn't have enough time to explore very much, but did enjoy the Cathedral and Plaza de Armas area. as well as some of the side streets and the architecture. The new road to Durango from Mazatlan is interesting and much faster, but the older (free) road has some spectacular scenery as well, even if it takes 5 1/2 hours instead of 3. The food we found in Durango was very good and inexpensive relative to other more resort areas of Mexico.
Durango its a beautiful city to explore. It has lot of history and its pueblos around it are great, Also the food its to die for!!
Durango is for ever evolving. In recent days it has grown and improved tremendously. Orienting its efforts towards tourism, new and great hotels and restaurants such as Finca Damiana, La Ferreria and many others make travelers feel welcomed. I love this colonial city.

Colonial feel to the facilities,. friendly staff and very good location. Location is very nice close to the city center. Attended a wedding and the wait staff was very attentive. Have stayed at other chain locations and you don't get the same vibe of true Durango at the modern ones than you do at Gobernador. Hotel is safe and secure and room are spacious. If you want a colonial feel with spacious rooms and good service Gobernador is the choice. A little tidbit, the location is the old Cerezo(jail). The song Celda 27 took place here.
Hotel Posada San Agustin is a classic Mexican hotel located just a few blocks from Durango's centro historico. The rooms are basic, but clean, with A/C and good Wi-Fi. There are numerous dining options available near the hotel and the main entertainment district is less than a kilometer away. Hotel Posada San Agustin is a budget friendly lodging option providing easy access to everything Durango has to offer as a tourist destination.
We really enjoyed our stay. So much so that we stayed two extra nights. Location is within 5 minutes of the main square. Parking is secure and adjacent. The property has a lift. Everything in the room worked, including hot water and aircon though the aircon struggled with the heat in Durango at the time. The hotel is from 1945 a d the ground floor is as it was. Breakfast us extra but great and we also ate in the evenings at the restaurant.
A nice colonial style hotel right next to the Cathedral de Durango on Calle Constitucion. The hotel is old but comfortable and had a nice Mexican buffet breakfast of chilaquiles and huevos. We would stay here again as it is close by to everything in the Centro Historico.
