WAVE SOUND by 3S Maldives

Maradhoofeydhoo

WAVE SOUND by 3S Maldives provides beachfront accommodations in Maradhoofeydhoo. This guest house offers a garden. The guest house has a private beach area and an electric vehicle charging station. Addu, the southernmost atoll of Maldives and the only one across the equator is a special place to visit. And it’s made doubly special by 3S and its awesome staff. Mr. Atheef, the ever pleasant and helpful manager and his staff will do everything possible in their capacity to make your visit special. 3S overlooked a small strip of beach which has now been extended which makes those special night strolls under starry skies memorable. The rooms are impeccable and the in house dining caters to every taste. Where the beach ends, the snorkeling begins and we saw some very awesome sea life including manta rays and turtle not to mention the colorful reef fish. And where the snorkeling ends, the private island of Hajara, walkable to, across the reef during low tide, will make the holiday an affair to remember. Mr. Atheef and team setup an umbrella with tables and chairs and brought in food and drinks for our own Maldivian picnic on that island. Snorkels, Bikes and canoes were supplied as and when needed. He also organized a trip to Addu park and Koattey beach, a must visit site on the north of the atoll. By the way this is the only island where a long 15 km road connects the various islands of the atoll. But he took it one more level up by organizing a special trip to the southernmost end of the island which needs special permission and escort vehicles to get to that place. Literally called Southernmost point, it’s the last point at the southern end of Maldives. A truly magical place. Finally he rounded it off with a dolphin watching trip on one of the Dhonis. A must do adventure and more fun if the sea is choppy. Overall the stay at 3S and the experience was one of the best trips I’ve taken ever.

Canareef Resort Maldives

Meedhoo

Canreef Resort is on Herathera Island, one of the 6 islands that form Addu Atoll, the Southernmost Atoll in the Maldives. After reading some of the reviews, we were a bit worried, but for no reason. We had a wonderful stay and the resort is value for money (about 1800 Euros, Sunrise villa for teo, 9 nights, all inclusive). Villas are lovely, spacious and comfortable (we were upgraded for free to a Sunset villa because the sunrise side was flooded - thank you, we loved going for an afternoon dip in the sea directly from the room!). Staff was amazing, so hospitable and friendly). Special thanks to Mohamed Shiruhaan, our waiter at the restaurant, Mausoom from housekeeping, Dama and Deepthi at Dhoni as well as the amazing staff at the reception who assisted us with the internet for a professional meeting when the wifi was down. Hotel grounds are beautiful and allow one to feel immersed in nature while walking or cycling (free bicycle throughout stay). To move around, one can also call for one of the electric buggies that arrive very quickly (or hail one down from the ones driving up and down). The resort island is narrow, but quite long. It is connected to the local Island via a bridge, you can cycle there with the bike after signing a liability form at reception) if you want a more authentic experience. Food at buffet restaurant: wide choice, also for vegetarians and vegans. Some variety over the week but there's so much to choose from that you don't get bored and are happy to find same dish the day after again (the Indian corner had delicious curries; the soups were yummy). Choice of alcoholic beverages including around 6 cocktails at the three cafe-bars (wine and beer at restaurant). Without all-inclusive plan, eating/drinking are at N. European prices- cocktails around 9, spaghetti and club sandwich 9, mains 25-35 Us dollar at beach bar), closes 18:00). Saw only one creepy crawly; some cute salamanders and lizards.
