Kandy is a nice place, but - maybe because its temple is a World Heritage site - it is always crowded. There is not much to see in the town itself one day is enough to visit these, but maybe better to skip it because of the traffic jams into, in and out of the town.
We tried The Kandy Garden Coffee, near the lake. It was really good. Portions are big. Price are cool. We had the best tuk-tuk driver, who is Ramzan Abdul! Went to Sigiriya and Dambulla with him. He took us the best restaurant in Dambulla, Sakura restaurant! Try the place! And than he took us an Ayurvedic massage, what was pretty cool!
Kandy is a cool place after Colombo. The weather is much livable than in Colombo, and so for people's attitude toward foreigners. You can relax and you can easily go to other places outside of the city. Beside the usual things, don't miss the Royal Botanic Garden which you can get with a local price for very cheap. Everything in walking distance in the city. If you go around the lake you can see bats on the three, several kinds of bird, some reptiles in the water, if you like them.
Kandy is a very crowded, noisy place with high air pollution and busy traffic all over. The only thing you shouldn't miss, is the Royal Botanical Garden, it's fantastic. We were in the beautiful Tooth Temple around 6pm, and it was full of people, so unfortunatelly we couldn't enjoy at all.
there is nothing interesting in Kandy except a walk around the lake and the nature. a lot of tourist traps you could live without them.
If you are in Sri Lanka, dont bother visiting Kandy, a traffic jam city w not much to see or do. Temple of Tooth is overrated. Go to Ella instead.
Traffic is sluggish as you approach the city and within, calculate this into your plan. The Kandy dance is a must see. The temple of the tooth relic has a bit chaotic queues around the sanctuary, nevertheless it is a unique experience especially after sunset. Proper clothing is monitored here.
Nagyon jó választás! Kandy központjában található. A recepción mindent előre elkészítettek. Ezért tudtuk gyorsan elfoglalni a szobákat. A szálloda tiszta és kényelmes. Az ágy nagyon kényelmes volt. A személyzet nagyon kedves és segítőkész. Mindenben igyekeztek a kedvünkben járni. Köszönöm a sok-sok figyelmet! A tetőtéri bár jó hangulatú, és nagyon jó kilátás nyílik a kivilágított városra és látnivalóira. A Buddha Tooth Temple egy rövid sétával elérhető.
Randholee Resort & Spa is a hidden gem that impressed me with its top-notch service and breathtaking surroundings. The check-in process was not only speedy but also wonderfully traditional, with a warm Sri Lankan-style oil lamp welcome and a refreshing herbal drink. The front office team was amiable, making us feel right at home. Upon entering our room, I was treated to a mesmerizing view of the majestic mountain range. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom is enormous and impeccably clean. The restaurant, overlooking the inviting swimming pool, offered a peaceful and relaxing ambience, and the meals were delicious. The infinity pool's view is awe-inspiring, and the Aloe Ayurvedic spa provides a truly professional and rejuvenating experience. For those seeking extra activities, the resort offers a well-equipped gym and badminton, squash, and table tennis facilities. One visit is just not enough to fully appreciate the beauty and hospitality of Randholee Resort. I wholeheartedly recommend it for a memorable family outing.

Hotel Thilanka provided an outstanding service during our stay there. They made sure to give us interconnected rooms and the GM Mr. Tim Paldano and his staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything to make our stay comfortable. When we had to host a family dinner, Tim made arrangements to have a beautiful setting in the garden to provide the right ambience for the dinner. The complementary fruit platters and snacks was much appreciated. We will definitely stay again at Thilanka and a big thank you to Tim Paldano and the entire staff for making our stay memorable.
Everything: room, view, personal, dishes, location. It's a fabulous place! We arrived here right from Colombo airport, the trip was hard but worthy: we met sunrise in mountains, the views were spectacular, monkeys came to our balcony early at the morning. Hotel gives you the best accommodation in that region with ability to visit most of the sight seenings in about 2-3 hours of taxi ride range (there are a lot of drivers using PickMe App). No need to wake up at 3:00 a.m. like in Weligama, Mirissa, etc. Clean pool allows to relax after a day trip and get sunbath. Dishes were various, set menu for lunch is a master piece! Ala-card menu either. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Absolute recommend to stay, book mountains view rooms!
I was booked for family room but got the best executive suite for the same budget. For the same reason we decided to extend our stay by one more day in the same suite. And one of the manager there gave us private hotel tour.
Fantastic view!! Everything was Super and Much Beautiful in the rooms. The Breakfast was also perfect and delicious. The mountain view from the rooms is like a dream!! The staff was very pleasant. Definitely will go there again!

It's our 2nd time in Madulkelle Tea and Eco Lodge and we will keep coming back! Inspiring and magical place where you get to sleep just under the clouds. All the comforts. 5-star food. Wonderful experiences on offer for nature lovers. Lovely caring staff who make us feel at home away from home. It's always difficult leaving this wonderful place.
