I recommend walking to Fertilia and way beyond it - the views from Sardinian coastline are great! Also climb to nearby mountains after Fertilia because you will get great view of Alghero from highs. 40km train/bus ticket is 3,80€ so you should visit Sassari for half a day at least. Best things to do in Alghero are free - walking, swimming, relaxing etc. Alghero is a beautiful and peaceful city to walk around. Turquoise clear water and its smell, white sand, palm trees, colorful flowers, cacti, slow lifestyle, lovely sunshine and pretty much everything else in Alghero just really gets me. Vegan and gluten free food is very rare in most restaurants if plain overpriced salad or fries are not on your menu. Luckily stores offer lot to eat in very low price. I recommend eating Italian and Sardinian fruits and veggies a lot because the freshness and flavor is a huge pleasure. If you wanna eat in restaurants for low price, Alghero may not be your town. For example normal pizza in Alghero costs approx. +9€ but in Sassari 2-5€. I definitely fell in love with Alghero.

Cagliari is very nice authentic Sardinian city. You can find very good seafood in many nice restaurants. The old city is beautiful with lot of interesting places. You can find many options for water sports in city harbour or nearby.
Pidin Algherosta siksi, että se on Sardiniassa, jossa en ollut ennen käynyt. En makaile rannalla enkä uima-altaalla itseäni paahtaen, eikä niin tee vaimokaan. Me matkustelemme ja katselemme maisemia, pikkukylien ja -kaupunkien elämää pyrkien päivittäen pois turistien massojen liepeiltä. Algheron vanhaan kaupunkiin oli kuitenkin mentävä hakemaan infosta hyviä vihjeitä ja syömään pari kertaa. Hyvin Algherosta pääsee julkisilla lähikaupunkeihin, mutta nyt sesongin päätyttyä oli vuokrattava myös auto päiväksi. Itse Algheron katsoo parissa päivässä, muutama päivä menee ympäristössä vierailuun ja matkan voi sitten päättää käymällä vielä Roomassa parin päivän pikavisiitillä, kuten me teimme. Algherossa on vallan erikoinen ravintola "Mabrouk". Se sijaitsee vanhassa kaupungissa, ruoka- eikä viinilistaa ei ole. Menu on kaikille sama, hinta oli kiinteä 40 €/ hlö juomineen ja ruoka on pelkkää kalaa ja merenantimia. Itse sain siihen vinkin Tv-ohjelmasta. Tätä ravintolaa kuvaa hyvin määritelmä "fantastinen". Suosittelen! Se on matkailijan, ei turistin valinta.

We had a lovely apartment which had direct access to the pool and cafe. The pool was lovely, having shaded areas at all times of the day and different depths depending on your needs. The location was a 10min walk up into town and 10min walk to the beach, where they have their own private access with sunbeds to use. The main bedroom has its own ensuite and walk in wardrobe and there was a seperate communal bathroom. Staff were lovely, accomodating our needs with using the facilities for the day we checked out.
The property is well cared for, it's very pleasant, with lots of flowers and plants.

The hotel is extremely nice and perfectly maintained. The room I stayed in was impressively clean, comfortable and had a stunning view. The swimming pool is pleasantly warm and big enough for recreational swimming, always clean. The hotel stuff is extraordinary kind and helpful. The beach is nice (somewhat distant from hotel) but entering the sea needs some carefulness because of the layer of sharp stones. The whole place is extremely silent and offers the great experience of watching miracle sunsets. It is definitely worth staying although not more than a few days.

Aamiainen sekä illallinen oli normaalia hotellitasoa, Ei yllätyksellinen, mutta runsas. Kenties isolle massalle ok. mutta makuja jäi kaipaamaan. Yrteillä saisi varmasti ihmeitä aikaa. Sijainti ilman autoa on varmasti haastava sesongin ulkopuolella, mutta jos on auto niin antaa paljon mahdollisuuksia. Ranta ja lähi rannat loistavia. Upeita vaelluspolkuja "vuoristoon" heti hotellilta.
